Vote for change , SAY no to Red or Blue in September.

David Amos
@Michael Hunt Methinks its best not to vote for any political party.
It is parisan politicking that created this mess in the first place.
Why not step up to the plate and run as an Independent and speak for
yourself and your neighbours? Perhaps some Independents would find a
seat on the house and then you may see a change for the better.

David Amos
@Michael Hunt Just in case anyone is wondering why I made so many
comments I am angry that the Health Minister will not give me a health
card. Hence I want everyone to know it.

The there is the fact that the liberal government cancelled my Social
Insurance Number many years ago without my knowledge so I had to go to
war with it over my CPP and Old Age allowance

Furthermore after I was barred from the legislature, the Fredericton
cops stole my Harley and SNB would not renew my drivers licence .

Unbelievable? Perhaps However it is nevertheless true.

Truth is strange than fiction in New Brunswick.

David Amos
@David Amos Do tell why is it that I am not surprised to see CBC block
the truth?

Chuck Stewart
Medivie in NB has a bad track record with the ambulance contract. They
have from Patient care to caring only about statistics, and those
stats are not all factual, they are fixed to make them look good.
Their staff that manage the government staff are not experts in
anyway, they are many that are not qualified for the positions they
holed. Ambulance NB is a mess that is well covered up. I shudder to
think of what they will do with Extra-mural and Telecare.

David Amos
@Chuck Stewart "Ambulance NB is a mess that is well covered up."

Methinks it is not that well covered up. Google Evelyn Greene
ambulance sometime Plus the stinky deals gives Medivie away anyway
N'esy Pas?

David Amos
@Chuck Stewart Interesting that CBC blocked my reply to your cover up
comment Methinks that their liberal bosses do not want what I
mentioned well known N'esy Pas?

Doug Ford's new Ontario PC government sworn in at Queen's Park

Ceremony officially gives Progressive Conservatives power for first time since 2003

Mike Crawley, Andrea Janus · CBC News · Posted: Jun 29, 2018 4:00 AM ET

Doug Ford has taken his oath at Queen's Park to begin serving as Ontario's new premier. (Frank Gunn/Canadian Press)

Doug Ford and his cabinet are taking their oaths of office at Queen's Park Friday morning, ushering in the province's first Progressive Conservative government in nearly 15 years.

A bagpiper led Ford and the 21 member-strong cabinet into the Ontario legislature shortly before 11 a.m. Ford is now Ontario's 26th premier, following his party's majority win in June.

The formal ceremony, presided over by Lt.-Gov Elizabeth Dowdeswell, is still underway as each cabinet member swears an oath.

Yea Right its a slam dunk for the LIEbranos in Scarborough Agincourt
just like it is on The Rock and for the neocons in Louis Riel's old
stomping grounds. Methinks it is rather obvious why the sneaky lawyer
Jagmeet Singh would not dare to put his name on the ballot in the very
spot he was born. Methinks the big talker needs a safe NDP seat to
find a seat in Parliament. However I truly don't believe there is any
such thing anymore N'esy Pas Mr Mulcair? BTW why haven't you quit yet?

The only close race I see on the 11th is in South Surrey BC  with a
LIEbrano Gordon Hogg versus Kerry-Lynne Findlay Harper's crooked old
boss of the CRA. I truly would prefer that the evil woman Findlay
finds a seat in Parliament again particularly while my lawsuits head
for the Supreme Court. One more LIEbrano whom nobody east of BC has
heard of ain't gonna make any difference to the rest of us whom
"Canada's Natural Governing Party" pretends to protect and serve EH?.

Byelection battle heats up in Scarborough-Agincourt
by Nitish Bissonauth and News Staff

A crucial seat is up for grabs in the Scarborough-Agincourt riding, as
candidates prepare for a byelection on Dec.11.

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh visited the riding, greeting supporters at
the Black Gold Café.

“This is incredible, this is literally where I was born, this has a
nice homecoming feel” said Singh about the reception.

While he doesn’t have a seat in Parliament, Singh says
Scarborough-Agincourt isn’t the place for him to run, despite it being
home turf. Instead he’s endorsing local hopeful Brian Chang, saying
the candidate has history in the area, currently resides in the
community and is engaged with the people.

He told CityNews one of the important concerns in the riding is
affordable housing, criticizing Prime Minster Justin Trudeau’s 10
year, $40 billion national strategy

“Housing crisis is right now, we need immediate action today” said
Singh. “When we have a government announcement that talks about
funding after an election, that’s cynical”

Chang is optimistic that after 30 years Liberal dominance, voters want
an alternative.

“They are not allowed to dominate the discussion, people want another
alternative and that’s what I am” said Chang. “Life is difficult here
in Scarborough-Agincourt, the average income here is 32 thousand
dollars, the poverty line is 28 thousand in Toronto, we’re not too far
off from that”

For him, the main issue in the riding is income inequality and he
plans to address precarious work.

While the NDP met with supporters, Liberal candidate Jean Yip was
hitting the pavement to meet voters door-to-door in the same riding.

She’s running for the seat left vacant by her late husband Arnold
Chan. He lost his battle with cancer in September.Chan first won a
byelection in Scarborough-Agincourt in 2014 and once again in 2015.

Yip wants to focus on seniors, tax cuts and the middle class — issues
she says were also dear to her husband.

“I would like to help him finish his legacy” said Yip, “I feel
connected and I’m happy to represent Scarborough-Agincourt after Dec.
11”

The byelection in Scarborough-Agincourt is just one of four happening
in the country. Voters will be heading to the polls in the ridings of
Battlefords-Lloydminster in Saskatchewan,  Bonavista-Burin-Trinity in
Newfoundland and Labrador and South Surrey-White Rock in British
Columbia

Prime Minister concludes Sask. tour in Saskatoon
Justin Trudeau visited North Battleford Thursday night before next
week's byelection
CBC News Posted: Dec 08, 2017 9:00 AM CT

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be stopping over in Saskatoon
Friday after a brief visit to Saskatchewan.

On Thursday, Trudeau visited North Battleford, Sask., for a public
meet-and-greet event with Battlefords-Lloydminster Liberal candidate
Larry Ingram.

The event was held less than a week before a federal byelection in the
riding of Battlefords-Lloydminster. Longtime Conservative MP Gerry
Ritz retired in October, leaving the seat up for grabs.

Other candidates in the riding are Rosemarie Ashley Falk with the
Conservative Party of Canada, Matt Fedler with the New Democratic
Party, Yvonne Potter-Pihach with the Green Party of Canada, and
independent Ken Finlayson.

On Friday, Trudeau will attend private meetings in Saskatoon before
heading back to Ottawa.

Voters in North Battleford head to the polls Dec. 11.

It’s official: Ken Finlayson is running for Parliament as an independent.

Elections Canada’s site has confirmed that Finlayson is on the list of
candidates running in the federal by-election in
Battlefords-Lloydminster.

As of Sunday night the other confirmed candidates on the ballot were
Rosemarie Falk of the Conservatives, Matt Fedler of the NDP, Larry
Ingram of the Liberals and Yvonne Potter-Pihach of the Green Party.
Elections Canada had set a 2 pm Monday deadline for all nominations to
be in.

Finlayson, who has been a rancher and rodeo cowboy among his various
pursuits, had previously attempted to seek the Conservative nomination
but was rejected by the party’s nomination committee.

Afterwards, there were calls by supporters for Finlayson to enter the
race as an independent. In a post on his Facebook campaign page
Sunday, Finlayson stated he had gotten his nomination papers in to
Elections Canada the previous day.

“Some people have smugly told us we "don't have a snowball's chance in
Hell!" as an independent candidate,” Finlayson stated. “Well that
don't change the reasons we're here! Just changes the height of the
hill we got to climb.”

Doug Ford's new Ontario PC government sworn in at Queen's Park

Ceremony officially gives Progressive Conservatives power for first time since 2003

Doug Ford sworn in as Ontario's 26th Premier LIVE

00:00 LIVE
Premier-designate Doug Ford will be sworn in as Ontario's 26th Premier on Friday at Queen's Park. 0:00

Dowdeswell called the day "an important occasion in the life and history of this province."

"Serving the public is a noble endeavour," she said. "There will undoubtedly be moments of joy and satisfaction, yet also times of challenge."

She urged the incoming government to "be sustained by the optimism that is inherent in your oaths and in the traditions of our parliamentary democracy, as well as by the support and encouragement of family and friends, who proudly join you here today."

More than 1,000 guests have been invited to the outdoor portion of the event, set for 12 p.m., which is also open to the public.

It is the first transition of power between parties in Ontario in nearly 15 years, since the PC government of Ernie Eves made way for the Liberal government of Dalton McGuinty on Oct. 23, 2003. Kathleen Wynne formally resigned on Friday morning.

In her remarks, Dowdeswell thanked Wynne for her five years of service as Ontario's premier, a tribute that was met with warm applause.

Strong PC majority

Ford takes office with a strong majority, having won 76 seats in the June 7 election. He has already announced that the first act of his government after the swearing-in will be to cancel Ontario's cap and trade program to reduce carbon emissions.
That announcement triggered the end of a program to provide Ontario homeowners with rebates on products to improve energy efficiency, such as smart thermostats and new windows.

Other campaign promises Ford and his cabinet could move on quickly include launching an independent audit of provincial finances left behind by the outgoing Liberal government, reviewing Ontario's sex education curriculum and ousting the board of directors of Hydro One.

The Ford transition team has already ordered an indefinite hiring freeze among provincial government ministries.

Ford has not announced a date for the resumption of the Legislature.

When it does sit, the NDP will form the official opposition under Leader Andrea Horwath, with 40 seats. The Liberals hold just seven seats, too few for official party status in the Legislature. Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner won his party's first ever seat in Ontario, in Guelph.

Ontario PC cabinet puts big-name politicians in top roles

Smaller cabinet will be sworn in at Queen's Park on Friday

Premier Doug Ford is calling his cabinet an "all-star" team, as a number of big name PCs take on prominent roles in the new government.

The cabinet will govern with a strong majority after the party captured 76 seats in the June 7 election. During the campaign, Ford highlighted the strength of his candidates, many of whom have served as the Official Opposition in recent years.

Among those taking on high-profile posts are:
  • Vic Fedeli will serve as finance minister and chair the cabinet
  • Christine Elliott gets the health portfolio, and will also be Ford's deputy premier
  • Lisa Thompson will handle education
  • Todd Smith will be the government house leader
The 21-person cabinet, including Ford, is being sworn in at Queen's Park on Friday. You can watch that ceremony live.

"We have an all-star team that's ready right now to give the people of Ontario the kind of leadership and direction they deserve," Ford said in a news release, before tweaking a frequent campaign slogan.

"Help is here."

Caroline Mulroney the new AG

Among the other prominent PCs who will serve in cabinet are: Caroline Mulroney, who will become attorney general, Rod Phillips, who will be the environment minister, John Yakabuski, the new transportation minister and Lisa MacLeod, who will be responsible for children, community services and women's issues.

Two-thirds of Ford's cabinet is male. For comparison, Kathleen Wynne's last Liberal cabinet featured 13 women and 16 men.

Ford is also keeping a ministerial responsibility for Indigenous Affairs, although the role is being folded into the portfolio of the new energy minister, Greg Rickford.
Indigenous leaders and others wanted Ford to maintain a minister solely responsible for issues of concern to First Nations, in keeping with a 2007 recommendation of the Ipperwash inquiry.
The NDP, now Ontario's Official Opposition, is set to respond to the PC cabinet picks at 2 p.m. ET.
Here is the full cabinet:
  • Doug Ford — Premier and minister of intergovernmental affairs
  • Christine Elliott — Minister of health and long-term care and deputy premier
  • Caroline Mulroney — Attorney general and minister responsible for Francophone affairs
  • Monte McNaughton — Minister of infrastructure
