Dear David,

I'm in Lethbridge, Alberta, to cover one of the most important trials of the year.

You certainly remember the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa that took place around this time two years ago.

Vast swathes of the country from all backgrounds — different professions, ages, ethnicities, locations, levels of income and wealth, religions, including philosophical and political viewpoints — came together to rally behind Canada's truckers, who brought the broad-based opposition against the COVID-19 Enterprise directly to Parliament Hill.

While people were peacefully protesting in Ottawa, hundreds of demonstrators set up a border blockade in solidarity with the Freedom Convoy in the small town of Coutts, Alberta.

Rebel News had two reporters embedded in the blockade to tell the other side of the story while countering misinformation pushed by the CBC and other news media outlets subordinate to the federal government. (They even characterized the trucker protests as some Kremlin-driven plot orchestrated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.)

At the protest's end, the government charged the Coutts Three — Marco Van Huigenbos, Alex Van Herk and George Janzen — with mischief for being "key participants" in the blockade, given their prominent roles in the demonstration.

Just like Tamara Lich, the Coutts Three are facing political persecution for rejecting the government's unconstitutional "public health" edicts.

During their pre-trial hearings yesterday, I had a chance to catch up with two of the three men who had an important question on their minds — "where's the accountability for those elected to represent us?"

Lethbridge

Although a publication ban prevents me from sharing specific details of this case, I will follow the proceedings closely and report relevant information of importance to our dear audience.

Those reports will be published at CouttsThree.com — please visit that site for the latest.

I do have one favour more to ask.

Considering the politically sensitive nature of this trial and its potential to embarrass Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, we don't expect our state-funded media to provide the honest and in-depth coverage this story deserves.

That's why we're here in Lethbridge and why we're asking our viewers to help us with our economy travel and accommodation expenses. I came in from Ottawa and needed a flight, car rental, and somewhere to stay. Unlike our mainstream media, we don't feed from a taxpayer-funded trough; we rely on donors to support our operations.

Do you think you can help? If you have the means, please click here to donate.

Yours truly,

Robert Kraychik

P.S. Please check out CouttsThree.com, where we've set up two separate donation buttons. The first will crowdfund lawyers for the Coutts Three. Those donations qualify for a charitable tax receipt through The Democracy Fund. The other is to help us with our reporting expenses and cover the costs of our time here in Lethbridge. Click here if you can help.

Chris Carbert’s Bail Hearing: “I’d like to see this go to trial to prove to the public that they had no case — the corruption of the crown is horrible,” says Alex Van Herk in support of the Coutts 4. Chris, along with other 3 men who have been under pre-trial detention for over 600 days in Alberta, Canada are considered to be political prisoners being made example of for their participation in a protest that blockaded Canada-US border for 2-weeks to pressure the government to drop Covid-19 vaccine mandates. Today, Chris is having a bail hearing ahead of his trial next week. He is charged with conspiracy to murder police. There’s an “automatic” publication ban on the hearing. "None of the Albertans we defended in relation to the government's unlawful COVID mandates were ever convicted at trial. It was our experience in many of those cases which led us to believe that many of these prosecutions may have been politically motivated to prevent those who disagreed with the government and the unlawful mandates from speaking out and exercising their charter rights to freedom of expression," says Pawlowski's lawyer Chad Williamson inside the Calgary courthouse this morning.
