I was watching Amtv again a pro trump fan and I was looking at his commentary of the debate. I remember protesting to the fact 911 was an inside job and we all watched the freak show as celebrities lied blatantly and ridiculed people for conspiracies. The number of police requests for electronic surveillance
of suspected criminals has decreased significantly year on year. (CBC)
In 2015, peace officers asked for authorization to intercept and record private communications 66 times, down from 114 a year earlier.
Police can ask a judge for permission to intercept someone's personal communications when they suspect serious criminal activity. Such authorizations generally last around 60 days.
The data comes from the Department of Public Safety's annual report on the use of electronic surveillance in Canada.

Christopher Parson agrees. He's with the telecom transparency project at the Munk School of Global Affairs' Citizen Lab.
"Wiretaps are meant to be a tool of last resort so what that may suggest is authorities are finding other ways of gaining evidence that is less intrusive on Canadians' privacy, more generally," Parsons told CBC News.

We have been living in the world of "Big Brother" for a long time
already and except for those like Snowdon etc who expose the "system" we
never get the truth. I now more or less accept the fact that my life
is not private. But the one part of myself that so far is safe from
"prying eyes" is my mind. I suppose one could try to live "off the grid"

This is usually where I sit back and watch statist Konservatives like some of the people posting here clash with libertarian conservatives over individual rights.
I've noticed a sad trend recently though. So-called libertarians seem to have dumped their principles by the wayside and declined to comment on these kinds of posts, so that both libertarians and statists (which is actually a much deeper and more fundamental divide than left-right) can save their energies for savaging the current government at the least little excuse.

I receive a much larger volume of correspondence (postal and email) than the average MP. My office replied to over 400,000 pieces of correspondence 2014. All emails are reviewed on a regular basis, however due to the high volume of emails my office receives, I may not be able to respond personally to each one.
