'I concede nothing': Trump backtracks after appearing to acknowledge Biden win
Election officials of both parties have said there is no evidence of major irregularities

U.S. President Donald Trump backtracked after appearing on Sunday to acknowledge for the first time that Joe Biden won the Nov. 3 election, saying he conceded "nothing" and repeating his unsubstantiated claims of widespread voting fraud.
Biden defeated Trump by winning a series of battleground states that the Republican incumbent had won in 2016. The Democratic former vice-president also won the national popular vote by more than 5.5 million votes, or 3.6 percentage points.
Trump made his conflicting statements in a series of Twitter posts.
"He won because the Election was Rigged," Trump wrote on Sunday morning, not referring to Biden by name. "NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation & bum equipment that couldn't even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!"
About an hour later, Trump wrote, "He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!"
President Donald Trump's Twitter feed showed one posting, seen here at the top, on Sunday morning that showed him apparently acknowledging that Democratic rival Joe Biden had won the Nov. 3 election. About an hour later, another tweet had Trump saying that he was not conceding. (@realDonaldTrump/Twitter)
Speaking on the NBC program Meet the Press, Biden's pick for White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, said, "Donald Trump's Twitter feed doesn't make Joe Biden president or not president. The American people did that."
Trump's campaign has filed lawsuits seeking to overturn the results in multiple states, though without success, and legal experts say the litigation stands little chance of altering the outcome of the election.
Election officials of both parties have said there is no evidence of major irregularities. Democrats and other critics have accused Trump of trying to de-legitimize Biden's victory and undermine public confidence in the American electoral process. Before the election, Trump had refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power.
WATCH | Thousands of Trump supporters march to capitol, U.S. Supreme Court:
Trump's refusal to concede did not change the fact that Biden was the president-elect, but it has stalled the government's normal process of preparing for a new presidential administration.
The Trump administration's decision not to recognize Biden as the winner has prevented Biden and his team from gaining access to government office space and to funding normally afforded to an incoming administration to ensure a smooth transition.
The federal agency in charge of providing those resources, the General Services Administration, has yet to recognize Biden's victory.
Sanders calls behaviour 'disgraceful'
Sen. Bernie Sanders, one of the main challengers to Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, criticized Trump's post-election conduct.
"Trump will have the distinction of doing more than any person in the history of this country in undermining American democracy. The idea that he continues to tell his supporters that the only reason he may have lost this election was because of fraud is an absolutely disgraceful, un-American thing to do," Sanders told CNN's State of the Union program.
Biden has spent days huddled with advisers as he weighs cabinet appointments, fields congratulatory calls from world leaders and maps out the policies he will pursue after being sworn in on Jan. 20. He is expected to continue meeting with advisers in private on Sunday.
Biden has won 306 votes in the state-by-state electoral college system that determines the presidential winner, according to Edison Research, far more than the 270 needed to secure a majority. States are in the process of certifying their election results. The electoral college meets to vote for the new president on Dec. 14.
John Bolton, Trump's former national security adviser turned critic, on Sunday called on Republicans to acknowledge Biden's victory. Bolton last week accused his fellow Republicans of "coddling" and "kowtowing" to Trump as the incumbent despite his defeat.
"I think it's very important for leaders of the Republican Party to explain to our voters, who are not as stupid as the Democrats think, that in fact Trump has lost the election and his claims of election fraud are baseless," Bolton said on ABC's This Week program.
"I take this as a test for the Republican Party. ... I don't buy the argument that Donald Trump has hypnotized Republican voters," Bolton added.
Trump supporters rally
On Saturday, tens of thousands of flag-waving Trump supporters ventured into Washington to echo his claims of election fraud during the "Million MAGA March," referring to Trump's campaign slogan of "Make America Great Again."

Trump's motorcade passed through the crowd on its way to his golf course in Virginia, producing cheers from demonstrators as the president waved from the back seat. The march was largely peaceful, though numerous scuffles broke out between Trump supporters and counter-protesters that continued after dark.
Klain said this week that a rapid transition is necessary to ensure the government is prepared to roll out a potential coronavirus vaccine early next year.
Tackling the raging pandemic will be a paramount priority for Biden, with the United States tallying record numbers of COVID-19 cases in recent days. More than 245,000 people in the country have died of the coronavirus since the pandemic began.
Methinks you know as well as I that since 2004 my name was on seven ballots in elections that I never expected to win but at least I spoke my mind with a real name in real space and time N'esy Pas?
MUTE!
If you said anything good about what good President Trump haas done ,your comments get fl agged and muted.
No wonder it was a close race, it took 4 years of brainwashing and a constant barrage of hate towards others by the leftist media.
Methinks the more clowns the merrier N'esy Pas?
lets see how many are invited to Trump's farewell party.
"Racicisists"? We're obviously not related!
"the General Services Administration, has yet to recognize Biden's victory"
You sure have difficulty with some very simple facts.
I think that makes it 0 for 16 or so.
All this winning. So much winning.
Trump lost, so very sorry................. for you.
Did you ever watch a US election prior to this one?
Referring to him as President Biden works for everyone.
Not sure I believe you.
It's amazing how many people are getting hung up on technicalities this time around. I've witnessed a few US elections in my years and don't recall so much nit picking and hair splitting. You can call Biden whatever you want, but as of Jan. 20 we'll be calling him Mr. President.
Problem being, for you, I have outed you.
Maybe if you sprinkled some punctuation, people could actually understand what you're trying to say.
Still insulting the French I see.
And again, not sure I believe you.
and.........................................................................................................?
The vast majority of people have had zero issues in *any* previous presidential election when the presumptive winner was called president-elect *before* the EC ratified their votes in December.
Why won't the lame stream media report this news?
Because it is fake, not 100% fake, just the part where I have put democrat as Kelly Loeffler is a Billionaire Republican.
I wonder how many airlines shares Kelly sold on September 10th, 2001
You conservatives have no low, so it is a solid question
Read my entire post then hit the like button ;)
A bit early to predict that.
Conservatives will likely make sure it doesn't happen like they did to JFK

Trump supporters march in Washington to support baseless election fraud claims
Election officials around U.S. have said they saw no evidence of serious irregularities
Thomson Reuters · Posted: Nov 14, 2020 12:54 PM ET
Tens of thousands of U.S. President Donald Trump's supporters marched through downtown Washington on Saturday, echoing his unsubstantiated claims of election fraud and cheering as his motorcade drove past.
A week after Democrat Joe Biden clinched the election, Trump, a Republican, has refused to accept the outcome and has launched a flurry of dubious legal challenges to overturn the results.
Election officials around the country have said they saw no evidence of serious irregularities.
Carrying flags and chanting "stop the steal," the protesters walked from Freedom Plaza near the White House to the U.S. Supreme Court building on Capitol Hill as part of the "Million MAGA March," referring to Trump's campaign mantra of "Make American Great Again."
Trump's motorcade drove by some of the protesters in downtown Washington on Saturday morning on his way to his golf course in nearby Sterling, Va. Demonstrators cheered as the president, wearing a red baseball cap emblazoned with the MAGA slogan, waved from inside the presidential limousine
WATCH | Cheering supporters greet Trump's convoy:
Donald Tarca Jr., who travelled to Washington from West Palm Beach, Fla., held a massive U.S. flag sporting a giant portrait of Trump.
"I think it was rigged on multiple fronts," he said of the election. "Also, the media was so biased that they convinced millions of Americans to vote for Biden. They hate Trump."
Many members of the far-right Proud Boys group, mostly clad in black with some wearing helmets and ballistic vests, were among the marchers. Some left-wing groups staged small counter-demonstrations, including members of the loose movement known as antifa.
Near the U.S. Supreme Court, some counter-protesters carried black umbrellas and makeshift shields, while others formed a line of bicycles to prevent pro-Trump protesters from approaching their group from the rear. They called Trump supporters "Nazis." The protesters shouted back a profanity about antifa.
WATCH | 'All lives matter' chants heard at pro-Trump march:
Reuters witnessed at least half a dozen scuffles and several tense standoffs in which police manned barricades between groups, but the violence appeared isolated.
In one instance, several counter-protesters near Union Station attacked a Trump supporter, who fell to the ground and received medical care after suffering a cut to the head.
The city's police department had made 10 arrests by mid-afternoon, a spokesperson told Reuters, including four for firearms violations, two for assault and one for assaulting an officer.

Biden spent the morning at his beach house in Delaware meeting with transition advisers, as he has done for much of the week, before returning to his home near Wilmington. The president-elect has largely ignored Trump's repeated claims of fraud, instead focusing on preparing to govern and fielding congratulatory calls from world leaders.
During a bike ride on Saturday morning with his wife, Jill, Biden answered "yes" when a reporter asked whether he was making progress in selecting his cabinet appointees.
'Time will tell'
Despite his bluster on Twitter, Trump began to sound doubtful about his prospects for the first time on Friday, telling reporters "time will tell" who occupies the White House starting on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20.
"This administration will not be going to a lockdown. Hopefully the, uh, whatever happens in the future — who knows which administration it will be? I guess time will tell," Trump said during remarks about the coronavirus pandemic at a White House event.
Biden won 306 votes to Trump's 232 in the state-by-state Electoral College system that determines the winner, according to Edison Research, far more than the 270 required to win the election. He also leads in the national popular vote by more than 5.5 million votes, or 3.6 per cent.
With the election outcome becoming clearer, Trump has discussed with advisers possible media ventures and appearances that would keep him in the spotlight ahead of a possible 2024 White House bid, aides said.
But his repeated allegations that the election was "rigged" have inflamed his supporters.
"Hundreds of thousands of people showing their support in D.C. They will not stand for a Rigged and Corrupt Election!" Trump wrote on Twitter. Police gave no official crowd size, but witnesses said the number of protesters was far short of Trump's estimate.
Stalled transition
The Trump campaign has filed lawsuits in multiple states with little success thus far. Legal experts have said the litigation is extremely unlikely to alter the election outcome.
States face a Dec. 8 deadline to certify their elections and choose electors for the Electoral College, though many states have implemented earlier certification dates. The Electoral College meets to vote for the new president on Dec. 14.
Trump's refusal to accept defeat has stalled the official transition. The federal agency that releases funding to an incoming president-elect, the General Services Administration, has yet to recognize Biden's victory, denying him access to federal office space and resources.
WATCH | Stalled presidential transition disrupts U.S. COVID-19 response:
Biden's pick for White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, said this week that a rapid transition is necessary to ensure the government is prepared to roll out a potential coronavirus vaccine early next year.
The raging pandemic will likely be Biden's top priority. The United States set a new daily record of new cases on Friday for the fourth straight day; more than 244,000 people in the country have died of the coronavirus since the pandemic began.

Tempting fate again.Who knows. They banned my close up profile pic of Trump in the viewfinder last week. I've been using it intermittently since January of last year. No ban for that one.I wondered if they would. I like that one.Ever since I appeared on their radar I figured they'd nail me for it. Very surprised they banned the picture and not me. I also removed the one of Hitler with Trump's head, saluting. Probably for the best.We can only hope the he gets voted out... I'm pretty tired of the only news being trumps BS..
@realDonaldTrump·

ANTIFA SCUM ran for the hills today when they tried attacking the people at the Trump Rally, because those people aggressively fought back. Antifa waited until tonight, when 99% were gone, to attack innocent #MAGA People. ""DC Police, get going — do your job and don’t hold back!!!""
Poor Trump. Still too ashamed to show his face in public after his humiliating loss to President Biden.
A real president would appeal for calm & try to work towards a more peaceful America. Instead, your Drumpf incites chaos & violence, all because he can't get over his humiliating election loss.
Of course Trumpistas have a name for them: Republicans in Name Only.
That's the Tump strategy: give something a derogatory name to dismiss it without having to deal with it. Like "LSM". Like "Sleepy Joe".
Childish.
Methinks verifiable facts are that the Electoral College has yet to vote, Big Bad Billy Barr is not done looking into matters, Trump ain't conceded and he clearly has lots of folks supporting him N'esy Pas?
The fat lady has not only sung, she’s gone to the after party and headed home
N’est pas
N’esy pas is gibberish in both official languages
There are plenty of verifiable facts to go around like record numbers of voting cards that only ticked the box for president without bothering to vote for the house/senate races. A %430 increase over such instances for Biden over Hilary in 2016. If someone was going to steal votes through fraudulent ballots or "software glitches", it seems to me this is exactly how it would look.
Not worth checking into?
So you think someone would try to cheat by making it as obvious as possible?
Yeah, that makes sense. Sure.
I hope he has his hands outside his pants this time.
Rudy's own daughter voted for Biden and implored other Americans to do the same.
"Queen Elizabeth II named Giuliani Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his “outstanding help and support to the bereaved British families in New York.”
The honorary knighthood does not carry the title “Sir Rudolph,” but it does allow the mayor to put the initials K.B.E. after his name.
“Just call me Rudy,” Giuliani said. “I always like that.
You see Edward, "baseless claims" are claims which are made without anything to base them on. When the Trump campaign makes claims of widespread voter fraud, but cannot provide any evidence of said claims, then those claims are, by definition, baseless claims.
Also, we already know what defines "serious". "Serious irregularities" are ones which are deliberate and could impact the outcome of the vote. They are not minor clerical errors which are bound to happen occasionally when you're counting ~150 million ballots over a few days.
Reasonable people already have confidence in the process of counting ballots. There are a lot of issues around US elections, at all government levels, with gerrymandering, voter suppression, dark money campaigns, and misinformation campaigns by foreign and domestic agents, but counting ballots isn't one of their problems.
Yeah, all of Trump's landslide quotes after 2016 are extra funny now.
Turns out it might have been right on the nose.
Trumps base seems to be under some kind of spell or mass hallucination that compels them to deny reality.

Biden wins Arizona, cementing U.S. presidential win despite Trump's refusal to concede
Win gives Biden 290 electoral college votes

U.S. president-elect Joe Biden has won the battleground state of Arizona, according to U.S. networks, dealing another blow to President Donald Trump's struggling effort to overturn the results of the Nov. 3 presidential election.
Biden's win in Arizona gives the Democrat 290 electoral votes in the state-by-state electoral college that determines the winner, more than the 270 needed to claim victory. Biden is also winning the popular vote by more than 5.2 million votes, or 3.4 percentage points.
With a few states still counting votes, the electoral math is daunting for Trump. The Republican president has repeatedly claimed the election was marred by widespread fraud, with no evidence to support his assertions. He would need to overtake Biden in at least three battleground states where Biden currently leads by varying margins.
The Trump campaign has filed lawsuits challenging the vote counts in individual states, although some have already been thrown out by judges. Legal experts have said the litigation stands little chance of altering the outcome, and state election officials have said they see no evidence of serious irregularities or fraud.
WATCH | Trump behaviour damaging Biden transition, says former Gore adviser:
Hand-count audits in more than six Arizona counties, including Maricopa County, where a majority of the state's residents live, found only minor discrepancies, the secretary of state's office reported earlier on Thursday. The audits involve hand counts of a random sampling of ballots.
Thus far, most Republican officials and lawmakers have publicly backed Trump's attempt to contest the election results and declined to recognize Biden as the president-elect.

But a handful of Republican senators on Thursday urged the Trump administration to allow Biden to receive intelligence briefings, implicitly acknowledging he could eventually occupy the White House even as they refused to recognize his win.
The president-elect traditionally receives such briefings from the intelligence community to learn of threats facing the United States before taking office.
"I don't see it as a high-risk proposition. I just think it's part of the transition. And, if in fact he does win in the end, I think they need to be able to hit the ground running," Senator John Cornyn told reporters.
Other Republican senators also said Biden should have access to classified briefings, including Lindsey Graham, a vocal Trump supporter, as well as Ron Johnson, James Lankford and Chuck Grassley.
The top House Republican, Kevin McCarthy, opposed the idea.
"He's not president right now. I don't know if he'll be president January 20th," McCarthy said.
