7 Liberal leadership candidates say they've submitted nomination papers as deadline passes

Candidates needed to pay $50K refundable deposit by 5 p.m. ET

Several candidates vying to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau say they've submitted their paperwork and met the first financial hurdle to enter the race, although it could still take a few days to see who's made the cut.

Candidates Karina Gould, Chrystia Freeland, Mark Carney, Jaime Battiste, Chandra Arya, Frank Baylis and Ruby Dhalla all said they've sent in their nomination packages.

The leadership race is running on an extraordinary tight timeline following Trudeau's resignation announcement earlier this month and an anticipated spring election.

Under the rules set by the party, candidates had until 5 p.m. ET Thursday to submit a nomination package including the signatures of 300 registered Liberals (including at least 100 from three different provinces or territories) and a $50,000 refundable deposit.

It's a fraction of the $350,000 total entry fee. The payments are being spread over four instalments between Jan. 23 and Feb. 17.

As the race barrels toward a March 9 vote, the candidates' policies are trickling out. But no one has outlined their full platform.

Carney defends lack of political experience

Asked by CBC's Kate McKenna whether being prime minister can be an entry-level job, Liberal leadership contender Mark Carney says he’s had many jobs where he ‘came in at the top,’ but he's focused on having a strong team.

On Thursday Carney, a former Bank of Canada governor, released a campaign video taking aim at Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre. The Opposition party has been critical of Carney for years, and has ramped up its attacks since he launched his leadership last week — suggesting he's a Liberal insider who favours unpopular and costly policies.

"You can't stand up to Trump when you're working from his playbook," said Carney in the video.

"[Poilievre] has been a politician his entire life, and in all that time, he hasn't fixed a thing. He just complains."

A source on Carney's campaign said he is meeting privately Thursday with MPs as they gather in Ottawa for a caucus meeting. The source, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said Carney has been focused on reaching out to grassroots organizers across the country and doing rapid one- to two-minute calls with Liberals.

Carney spoke to reporters in downtown Ottawa on Thursday on his way into an event, flanked by a handful of Liberal cabinet ministers.

"We can put this economy back on track as a team," he said. "It's not just about me."

Freeland says she'll focus on reviving the Liberal Party

On her way into a Liberal caucus meeting in Ottawa on Thursday, Toronto MP Chrystia Freeland says her focus while running to be the next party leader is reviving its grassroots and making its processes more democratic.

On Thursday, former finance minister Freeland promised to shake up the party's constitution and develop a process for leadership reviews — a swipe at Trudeau. The prime minister faced mounting calls from caucus to resign last year, but they were left without a mechanism to force him out.

"For me, a huge emphasis is going to be reviving the party, reviving the grassroots of the party, reviving a real democratization process of the party," she said on her way into a caucus meeting on Parliament Hill.

"We can never again be in a position where the leader is the only person who decides who the leader is. And I think Liberal Party grassroots members and caucus need to have a greater say in what we do and how we do it."

A campaign source said Wednesday Freeland would scrap changes to the capital gains tax that she introduced as finance minister.

It's the second key Liberal policy Freeland has walked away from in her bid to become the next Liberal leader and prime minister. Freeland would also drop the consumer carbon tax if she wins.

Carney has appeared to have cooled on the Liberals' climate policy but has been less clear about his plans.

During his leadership launch last week, he said if the carbon price is going to go, it has to be replaced "with something that is at least, if not more, effective."

Party still has to approve candidates

Gould, the former House leader, has promised to freeze the carbon price but not abolish it.

"We have to be honest about the fact that Canadians have lost trust in our party and part of it is that I do not think that we responded to the issues that they were telling us mattered to them," she said Thursday after submitting her papers.

Gould promises permanent GST break on some children’s items

In a news conference Thursday morning, Liberal leadership candidate Karina Gould committed to permanently cutting GST on children’s clothing, diapers, strollers and car seats if elected as the party leader. The federal government introduced a two-month GST break on certain items in December.

She suggested to reporters she would make the government's GST holiday permanent on children's clothing, diapers, strollers and car seats. Those items —  and other goods and services including beer and wine and restaurant meals — are exempt from GST until Feb. 15.

She also said her government didn't get the capital gains increase "right."

A source on her campaign team said since launching her bid on the weekend, she's been reaching out to young Liberals and working to sign up new members.

Nova Scotia Indigenous Liberal MP submits application for Liberal leadership

Jaime Battiste officially announces he is running to become the next Liberal Party leader to replace Justin Trudeau. Battiste is the first Indigenous candidate ever to be in the running for prime minister of Canada.

Battiste also held a news conference Thursday where he announced he's submitted his papers "to be the first Indigenous person ever to run for the prime minister of Canada."

"I believe we have unfinished business for shared dreams in our country," he said while encouraging young Indigenous people to register to vote in the Liberal race.

Dhalla, a former Liberal MP who won three back-to-back elections in Brampton, Ont., announced Thursday on X that she would be running for the leadership.

Dhalla told CBC News Network's Power & Politics that she decided to join over frustrations with the way the party has gone under Trudeau.

"I think I share the anger and the frustrations of thousands of Liberals across the country, because the Liberal party of today is no longer the Liberal party as we knew it," she told host David Cochrane. Dhalla lost her seat in 2011 and has worked in the private sector ever since. She pitched herself as the candidate who has the most distance from Trudeau.

"I am the only one that has not been affiliated with the current administration. I am a fresh face and I have fresh ideas and a new vision," she said.

People can register with the party to vote in the leadership race up until Monday.

Parker Lund, a spokesperson for the Liberal Party, says the party will approve candidates "within 10 days." Elections Canada will also need to approve them, he said, which could take several days.

Lund said the party will only confirm official candidates once they have been fully approved.

Registered Liberals will vote across 343 ridings, with each riding weighted at 100 points.

Hamilton man says the Ontario government has failed autistic son

CHCH News

Mar 14, 2023

Ryan Davies from Hamilton says like many families who have a child living with autism, support from the provincial government is essential. He says after his funding expired last week, communication with the government about the next steps has been almost non-existent.

Davies says at this point, he feels like the government has failed his son Vincent because he no longer has government funding to pay for services that are key to his support and development.

6-year-old Vincent was diagnosed with autism in 2019. He is level two on the spectrum and has some trouble communicating. Without government support, Davies and his wife Tanya say they have been on their own, “we became therapist, we became doctor, we became triage… we became essentially his whole medical system for autism.”

Davies says the one-time autism funding that was available to families over the last two years because of the pandemic expired last week and Vincent was put on a waitlist.

Since then Davies says he has been reaching out to the government for answers and hasn’t gotten any. Without funding, the Davies’ say they’ll have to spend thousands of dollars a year out of pocket for core services for their son while they wait.

The Davies family are just one of the thousands of other families still trapped in limbo. Monique Taylor MPP for Hamilton mountain and social service critic says the waitlist for children to receive funding for core services in the province is over 60,000.

Taylor says, “it’s terrible that the government is not finding this a priority, and leaving so many kids languishing on waitlists.”

CHCH News asked the Minister of Children, Community, and Social Services Merrilee Fullerton several of the Davies family’s questions but she had no answers for them. Instead, in a statement, the ministry offered no immediate help but noted there are other supports available.

The Ontario government will deliver its 2023 budget next week and MPP Taylor says she hopes it will include money to provide help to the thousands of families including the Davies.

History

Flamborough—Glanbrook came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for October 2015.[8] It was created out of parts of the electoral districts of Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale, Niagara West—Glanbrook and Hamilton Mountain.[9]

Members of Parliament

This riding has elected the following members of Parliament:

Parliament Years Member Party
Flamborough—Glanbrook
Riding created from Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale,
Hamilton Mountain, and Niagara West—Glanbrook
42nd  2015–2019     David Sweet Conservative
43rd  2019–2021
44th  2021–present Dan Muys
Riding dissolved into Flamborough—Glanbrook—Brant North,
Hamilton East—Stoney Creek, Hamilton Mountain, and
Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas

In the 42nd Canadian election, Sweet sought and won re-election over Liberal candidate Jennifer Stebbing in Flamborough—Glanbrook. On November 5, 2015, Sweet became the first elected Chair of the National Conservative Parliamentary Caucus, as prior to the 42nd Parliament the position was appointed by the party leader. In this role Sweet was responsible for organizing and chairing the meetings of the Conservative Caucus. During the 42nd Parliament, Sweet served as the Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights.[5] Sweet also briefly served on the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage during the study brought on by Motion 103.[12]

Sweet was re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Flamborough-Glanbrook in the 2019 federal election, defeating Stebbing once again. On November 29, 2019, Sweet was named Shadow Minister for International Human Rights and Religious Freedoms by then-leader Andrew Scheer.[13] On October 8, 2020, Sweet was elected Chair of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy, and Ethics.[14]

COVID-19 travel scandal

In January 2021, Sweet was discovered to have travelled to the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the border between Canada and the United States being closed to nonessential travel and public health advisories to avoid unnecessary travel. Sweet received prior approval from Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole for the trip, which was initially for a property issue but also, according to Sweet, for leisure. Sweet resigned from his role on the ethics committee and announced he would not be seeking re-election.[15]

Dan Muys (born December 25, 1970) is a Canadian politician and public relations consultant[2] who serves in the House of Commons of Canada as the Member of Parliament for Flamborough-Glanbrook.

A member of the Conservative Party of Canada, he was elected in the 2021 Canadian federal election.

Prior to being elected, Muys worked behind the scenes politically for many years.[3] From 2008–2020, he was the Chief of Staff for his predecessor, former MP David Sweet. He has held office positions at Queen’s Park and on Parliament Hill, including the provincial Minister’s Office for Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade,[4] and for Brian Mulroney-era federal trade minister Michael Wilson.[5] He is also the Ontario PC Party Regional Vice President for South Central Ontario.[6]

Muys worked in the private sector for 20 years as a public relations and communications consultant, mostly in the sectors of agriculture, agri-food and energy.[7] His work included large-scale projects with Cargill and TransCanada (now TC Energy).[7] A Cargill campaign that he managed led to a CAMA award for public relations in 2004.[8]

His community involvement includes serving as a board member for both the Royal Botanical Gardens[9] and Canadian Public Relations Society,[10] as well as membership with the Ancaster Rotary Club.[11]

In 2021, Muys was acclaimed as the federal Conservative candidate for Flamborough-Glanbrook upon the retirement of David Sweet.

Muys currently serves as Associate Shadow Minister for Transport.[12] He previously served as the Deputy Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Communities.[13]

He is married and lives in Lynden, Ontario.[7]

Freeland defends arrests of protesters, says Canada's democracy and
economy are under threat
MPs had been scheduled to debate the Emergencies Act from 7 a.m. to midnight ET

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland defended her government's
decision to invoke the emergency powers now being used to clear
downtown Ottawa, saying Canada's economy and democracy are being
threatened.

"A liberal democracy must be prepared to defend itself," she told a
news conference Friday as police continued to take into custody
protesters demanding the elimination of all pandemic measures who have
gridlocked the capital city for nearly three weeks.

The federal government triggered the Emergencies Act earlier this week
for the first time in the legislation's history. It brought in new
measures prohibiting public assemblies that disrupt the movement of
people, goods and trade, or that support the "threat or use of acts of
serious violence against persons or property."

In a dramatic show of force, a line of police officers — some armed
with weapons, face shields and gas masks — has been moving along
Rideau Street, pushing protesters west and making arrests along the
way.

Police started arresting protesters and towing trucks on Friday as
part of an operation to end a three-week blockade of Ottawa by
hundreds of truck drivers that paralyzed the nation's capital and
prompted the prime minister to invoke emergency powers. (Evan
Mitsui/CBC)
1 of 20

As of 3:53 p.m. ET, police had taken 70 people into custody and towed
21 vehicles.

At one point, officers smashed the window of an orange vehicle and
arrested the occupant after he locked himself in.

Armoured tactical vehicles were spotted moving up Rideau — a major
downtown artery — with a group of mounted officers nearby.

"When this crisis is over, all of us will need to work hard to heal
our country," Freeland told the news conference.

"But today, our economy and our democracy are facing a serious and
foreign-funded threat. These illegal blockades and occupation cannot
be allowed to usurp the authority of democratically elected
governments."

Some of the protesters on the streets linked arms and sang the
national anthem. Others sat down or kneeled on the ground, refusing to
move.

"Hold the line," some chanted.

Police arrest protesters in operation to end 3-week Ottawa occupation

    Analysis
It's no sledgehammer — but for Trudeau, the Emergencies Act could
turn out to be just as heavy

On Wellington Street, home of the National War Memorial and Parliament
Hill, protesters used shovels and orange and white pylons to build up
a wall of snow.

"You will face severe penalties if you do not cease further unlawful
activity and remove your vehicle and/or property immediately from all
unlawful protest sites," Ottawa police tweeted Friday morning.

Freeland said she takes no satisfaction in seeing the arrests.

"For me this is a day of real sorrow, but also determination," she said.

"And it is a day, I think, where everyone in our government is very resolute."

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland says the protests now being
cleared from Ottawa's streets are attempting to undermine Canada's
democracy and economy. 1:36

The government published its reasons for triggering the Emergencies
Act late Wednesday, calling the situation across the country
"concerning, volatile and unpredictable."

"The protesters have varying ideological grievances, with demands
ranging from an end to all public health restrictions to the overthrow
of the elected government," the government statement reads.

"Ideologically motivated violent extremism adherents may feel
empowered by the level of disorder resulting from the protests."

The statement also said border blockades threaten Canada's economic security.

"The impact on important trade corridors and the risk to the
reputation of Canada as a stable, predictable and reliable location
for investment may be jeopardized if disruptions continue," it reads.

For six days last week, protesters blocked access to the Ambassador
Bridge which connects Windsor and Detroit. The vital trade link was
reopened to traffic on Sunday after police moved in.

On Friday, an Ontario judge granted an extension to the injunction
that prohibits anyone from blocking access to the Ambassador Bridge.
The previous order was set to expire Monday.
Debate delayed

A debate in the House of Commons on the government's controversial
decision to invoke the Emergencies Act has been temporarily suspended
as the police operation continues on the parliamentary precinct's
doorstep.

House leaders previously reached a deal to debate the use of the
Emergencies Act on Friday and throughout the weekend, from 7 a.m. ET
to midnight, with a vote planned for Monday.

The extraordinary powers provided by the legislation have been in
effect since Monday, but the Emergencies Act stipulates that the
federal government also must go before Parliament to seek approval
from MPs and senators.

Government House Leader Mark Holland tweeted that he hopes the debate
can resume Saturday.

"We are closely monitoring the police operation in downtown Ottawa
today and will await further advice from security officials on
Parliament Hill on when the House can reopen," he wrote.

Ottawa over the past three weeks. Here's how they got there and how it
might end. 3:10

A note sent to senators on Friday morning asks them to stay away from
the downtown core.

The Conservatives have argued the government has not backed up its
claim that the demonstrations pose a serious threat to Canada and
can't be dealt with through existing laws.

"We want to lower the temperature across the country. The prime
minister clearly wants to raise it," interim Conservative leader
Candice Bergen said in the House Thursday.

"This is not a game. It comes at the cost to Canadians' rights and freedoms."

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) announced Thursday
that it plans to sue the federal government over its decision to
invoke the Emergencies Act.

"Emergency powers cannot and must not be normalized," said CCLA
executive director Noa Mendelsohn.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said his party plans to support the
Emergencies Act declaration — which would carry it through the
minority Parliament — but is ready to pull its support if the measures
are no longer necessary or if the government takes on additional
powers.

"This is not a protest. It is not peaceful," Singh said during
Thursday's debate.

"The organizers of this illegal occupation have been clear from the
beginning. They came here to overthrow a democratically elected
government."
Downtown Ottawa locked down

Interim Ottawa police chief Steve Bell said the Emergencies Act and
the provincial state of emergency provided police with the resources
they needed to push back and end the demonstration.

"The three levels of government that have come together to support our
efforts in this have led us to be able to have the success we're
starting to see right now," he said Friday.

"Without the authorities provided to us through these pieces of
legislation, we wouldn't be able to be doing the work we are today."

Ottawa's downtown core remains locked down Friday morning, with about
100 checkpoints preventing protesters from entering the zone.

They act also prohibit people from bringing minors near unlawful
assemblies and authorize banks and insurance companies to freeze
participants' accounts and cancel their vehicle insurance.

On Friday, police escorted at least one tearful family with
school-aged children away from the scene.

Canadian Civil Liberties Association to sue federal government
over Emergencies Act

Truckers say they'll face arrests peacefully — but will defend their rights

On Thursday, police arrested Chris Barber and Tamara Lich, key
organizers of the protest convoy that began as a demonstration against
vaccine mandates and other pandemic restrictions.

Both are expected to make court appearances on Friday.

According to police, Barber is charged with counselling to commit the

Subject: I called and tried to talk to the "War Room" dude David Small in Ruby Dhalla's office AGAIN

First he was there and then the lady came back to the phone and said he was not  but wanted to know why I was calling anyway. I told her to have ruby answer me in writing this this time. Like a typical sneaky liberal I saw the Upper Canadians peeking at mean old me on the web after I called but they are too chicken to pick up the phone so sometimes I call them again just to rub it in. Some liberals do answer emails but in the usual snobbish fashion that constantly pisses me off. I must ask the mindliss liberals the obvious question why the hell would I want to talk to a candidate who did not have time for me before they lost an election?

I will be out of the office until May 3, 2011 and I will have no access to this e-mail account until that time.  I can be reached at pdonolo@liberal.ca during that time.  If you would like to contact someone in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, please call the main line at 613 996-6740 and your call will be redirected to the appropriate individual.

For the record I dismissed the Layton massage story as well There are far more important things to be revealed about Layton and his many cohorts that can be found within this email that should have been revealed long before the election of the 38th Parliament. Ask yourself why the media has ignored the obvious since 2002. Check out the pdf files for yourself. Notice that I sent a pile of documents to CBC in Toronto in July of 2002 byway of courier signature required? Look who else got the same stuff the same day.

I found it strange that the liberals, the NDP and even the Bloc and Green Party did not bother to makes some points out of the emails that i sent and receieved from Harper's lady pals in BC Valley Meredith and Debbie Baby Grey. Clearly everbody hate me to much to attempt to use anything that involves me. However none can deny that my latest emails made Ashfield's bankster and business butt buddies nervous. Methinks that is more effective than merely pissing off local mindless polticians N'esy Pas Chucky Leblanc?

Rest assured that i will call their War Rooms this weekend and tell them abou this email.
Harper and Iggy should read the following statement rather closely as Layton embarasses the hell out them this weekend. EVERYBODY and his dog knows that Layton knew about page two of the file hereto attached (Entitled Integrity Yea Right) I sent it to every parliamentarian during the creation of the ARAR INQUIRY and received several answers before I ran in the election of the 38th Parliament as Arar's wife ran for the NDP and continued to work for them afterward.

To put it simply we all know Layton and Dizzy Lizzy May are every bit as crooked as the rest of you are. I am sick of the nonsense that I have been watching on CAPAC and CSPAN etc. for years. I have talked to numerous people during this election and many other elections going back to 2002 Only a few people have ever opted to insult me in person but all do not have the balls to challenge my words and deeds in a public fashion. You people are crazy not me and I want nothing to do with any of you anymore for fear that the sickness is catching.

Tis time to make a deal with a minor little devil or two starting with the CROWN so that the very corrupt RCMP and their fellow cops pals will quit their harassemnt and let me live out the rest of my life in the Maritimes in peace and some semblance of comfort.

My children are now full grown Thus I can no longer speak for my Clan in court. I am tired and looking to create a comfortable retirement and escape from the madness of it all. My personal ethical delemma has been whether ot not to offer to settle my disputes with the crooked banksters etc in confidence then evaporate and merely watch the apatheic sheeple continue to have the governments they truly deserve while feeling comfortable in the knowledge that I did the best that I could do to inform them of the obvious.

Politicians should at least agree that ethics should make decisions easy but that is not always the case in the real world. Obviously I have have resolved my problem to my personal satisfaction. Now let see just how clever your bankster buddies are.

hello David.  After your somewhat surprising call yesterday, I did, in fact, "look for your name".  You said it had been hidden, and no-one published it.  In fact, aI saw your record of 358 votes as an independent candidate for Fundy-Royal.  Also, please be assured I was not making fun of your name yesterday, but, because I love words, I said "Famous Amos".  You seemed amused and pleased at the time.  Deborah

Better yet did he help to compose them?

i know for a fact he has seeen all the documents hereto attached and a great deal more of mine as well. I sent them to legions of his underlings byway of Registered Canadian Mail both before and after he became our latest Prime Minister. Hell even the former Governor General in 2004 told me to take the CROWN to court before I was falsely imprisoned in Canada and the USA correct Rotten Ralphy Goodale?

BTW the lawyer Martine Turcotte should be informed that CTV has a real arsehole answering their phone on behalf of Whistleblower. He demanded to know my business but was too chicken to even say his name. Perhaps Marine should Google her name and mine and hire herself a lawyer N'esy Pas?

VAls minority report

Heritage Front Affair Val's Minority Reports THE HERITAGE FRONT AFFAIR: OUR VIEW DISSENTING OPINION of the REFORM PARTY of CANADA Presented by Val Meredith, M.P. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE It was nineteen months ago when the Sub-Committee on National Security began its consideration of the Security Intelligence Review Committee's Heritage Front Affair report. Finally, after a long and often arduous effort, the Sub-Committee has tabled its report. At this point in time, it is important to clarify a couple of significant issues: The delays in producing the Sub-Committee report have nothing to do with the activities of the opposition parties, but rather are due solely to delays caused by membership changes and disagreements among the government members. Secondly, the so-called report of this Sub-Committee has little input from the opposition members. The joint dissenting opinion of the Bloc Quebecois and the Reform Party more accurately reflects the multi-party consensus of the majority of members of this Sub-Committee who actually participated in most of the Sub-Committee's hearings. While the joint dissenting opinion does not fully reflect the Reform Party's position on this issue, it is included to illustrate the changes to the report imposed by the government members. It must be noted that the major changes to this report did not occur during a Sub-Committee meeting, and neither opposition member was present. It is clear that the Liberal government was not prepared for the Sub-Committee to table the more critical report that is now the joint dissenting opinion. With regard to the official report of the Sub-Committee, the current government members of the Sub-Committee have produced an extremely emasculated version of the original report. Their report is just an extension of SIRC's Heritage Front Affair report which did not provide a sufficiently critical review of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service's investigation. THE SIRC REPORT SIRC claims to be the "eyes and ears of the public and Parliament on the Canadian Security Intelligence Service." Yet after months of consideration of the Heritage Front Affair report, it is clear that SIRC has been not only negligent in this role, but deliberately dishonest as well. Instead of providing Parliament with a thorough and objective review of CSIS' use of a human source in its investigation of the Heritage Front, SIRC's report exonerates CSIS and the Source of any wrongdoing. In its exoneration of CSIS, SIRC ignored or suppressed any evidence that was inconsistent with their conclusion that the Service did no wrong. SIRC has wilfully mislead Parliament and the Canadian people. The exoneration of CSIS by SIRC is a betrayal of SIRC's role as a review committee. While the Reform Party is deeply concerned with the wrongdoings of CSIS, SIRC's refusal to address these transgressions in an open and honest manner is cause for even greater concern. After nineteen months of reviewing the SIRC report and obtaining additional information, it is clear that SIRC is not fulfilling the function that Parliament intended. Originally the Reform Party had planned to do a thorough and critical review of the SIRC report, pointing out numerous inaccuracies and omissions. However, because the original version would have been too lengthy, we have chosen to focus on two main issues: Grant Bristow - CSIS Source, and the CSIS investigation concerning Preston Manning, that formed Chapter VIII of the Heritage Front Affair. ; GRANT BRISTOW - CSIS HUMAN SOURCE Unlike the government members of the Sub- Committee, I have no hesitancy in identifying Grant Bristow as the CSIS Source who infiltrated the Heritage Front.

The Parliamentary Group is a public relations firm (Lobby).  We are available to non governmental groups for $250.00/hr.   I do not think it is our group that you are looking for assistance.

Immediatley below is the Tyee's political blog. Keep scrolling and you will see why you should not deny that I have given you dudes lots of fodder for your news department as I ran for public office four times over the course of the past seven years correct? Try Googling your own email address and my name if you not believe my words about you people in this email. Now that Stevey Boy Harper is pounding on the drum for another election why not remind you all of his debate with Paul Martin (aka Humpty Dumpty) and my take on the scene and Harper's response?

Here is a thought that could be fun for some. Why don't all you NDP and Liberal wannabe leaders in BC ask your Conservative MPs and Harper's old boss Deb Grey and her gal pal Val Meredith if I am a liar or not and ask them if they will put their opinion of mean old me writng and send it to the nasty media  bastards A.J Walling and his butt buddy the "Fibber" in Nova Scotia?

These are the blogs I told your Tyee reporter to checkout tonight before he asked me too many questions then opted to piss me off when he realized I was talking way over head.

Harper said to media dudes today focus on the economy not a possible election. We all should now he wants an election before he has to uphol an budget. I say focus on both and checkout my whisleblowing efforts pertaining to financial crimes since 2001 and review my letter to Harper before his first budget 5 long years ago. I sent it to you dudes in the Tyee and AJ Walling a long time ago Correct? Hell do you even remember talking to me Mr Beers? Small wonder that I did not bother telling you my name today EH? If you wish to play dumb just Google the expression "Nobody Will Say My Name " and you will find some of my emails to you and of course my letter to Harper and the Banksters posted in my hald dead blog from 5 years ago.

Anyway your legislative editor Andrew MacLeod and a lot of the people who gets this email who also lust for Gordy Campbells' old job should recall my calls and emails to them during the election in BC in the spring of 2009. EH? Now they will all have argue the documents and CD  I sent their liberal leader and Wally Opal in 2005 before I ran against Harper and the everyone else once again in 2005 or my name ain't "Just Dave" EH AJ Baby?.

It was truly beyond incredible today that not only did the New York
Bank and the CIBC people pretend to forget who I was but even the very
corrupt RCMP in Ottawa claimed that they lost my file as well.

Obviously everybody knows about my old blog so I can't help but wonder
how all the buddies of Governor Mark Carney formerly of Goldman and
Sachs will explain this nasty kid's blogs about mean old me when one
of Bernie Madoff's victims reads this one in particular.

Global Witness was the first organization that sought to break the
links between the exploitation of natural resources, and conflict and
corruption. Global Witness exposes the corrupt exploitation of natural
resources and international trade systems, to drive campaigns that end
impunity, resource-linked conflict, and human rights and environmental
abuses. Relevant areas of work are corruption in oil, gas and mining
as well as the role of financial institutions.

Here is the text of one them here in this blog. Look for the following line

Clearly David Aufhauser's name is directly across from Ted Kennedy's

the wrongs practiced against my family and I. If you doubt me or my

the Attorney General of Masschusetts why I truly beieve and can prove

However if you bankers were truly wise in these troubling times I

From the Pages of The Pomerantz Monitor: UBS Pressured to Settle
Auction Rate Securities Claims

The September issue of The Pomerantz Monitor relays events that led
UBS to enter into a global settlement with federal and state
regulators over auction rate securities. UBS, the Swiss banking
colossus with $1.9 trillion under management and over 80,000 employees
worldwide, has been forced to write off close to $43 billion in the
value of its debt portfolio. Its stock is down more than 50% this
year. Its chairman, CEO and other senior executives have been forced
out. And it is at the center of the auction rate securities debacle
and a tax fraud investigation. On August 12, UBS announced that in the
second quarter, its private-banking clients had withdrawn funds for
the first time in eight years; and that it is cutting 5,500 jobs. UBS'
wealth management advisors are reportedly defecting in droves.

About 50,000 UBS customers are now stuck with $37 billion worth of
auction rate securities. In order to settle a suit brought by the
Massachusetts Attorney General, claiming that UBS misled investors
about the safety and liquidity of those securities, UBS recently
agreed to pay $4.4 million and announced it would buy back up to $3.5
billion of auction rate preferred stock sold by closed-end tax-exempt
funds and held in UBS accounts as of that date.

The New York Attorney General ("NYAG") filed a similar suit on July
24; on the same day, the Texas State Securities Board moved to suspend
UBS' securities license in the state until UBS repurchases, at par,
all auction rate securities it sold to Texas investors. In addition,
the SEC was conducting an investigation into the auction rate
securities crisis.

Finally, on August 8, UBS, under overwhelming pressure, entered into a
global settlement with federal and state regulators in which it agreed
to buy back nearly $19 billion of auction rate securities held by
retail investors.

The New York action had the potential to be particularly embarrassing
for UBS. The suit alleges that seven UBS executives unloaded a total
of $21 million in auction rate securities in the months leading up to
the market's collapse, while the bank was telling customers that these
securities were safe. Among the seven was David Aufhauser, general
counsel for UBS' investment banking arm. The NYAG's complaint
references an email sent to Aufhauser, among others, anticipating the
UBS pull-out from the auction market for these securities. Later that
same day Aufhauser instructed his financial advisor to dump all his
auction rate securities holdings. Aufhauser has now resigned.

UBS is also in the dock for supposedly helping thousands of wealthy
investors from around the world hide their assets and income from tax
collectors. On July 17, 2008, a Senate subcommittee released a
110-page report on "Tax Haven Banks and U.S. Tax Compliance" that
focused on UBS and LGT Group, the largest bank in Liechtenstein, a
country which has been blacklisted by the Organization for Economic
Cooperation and Development for past money laundering activities. The
report concludes that, in order to recruit U.S. clients, UBS
established an elaborate formal training program on such subjects as
how to avoid surveillance by U.S. customs and law enforcement, and how
to secretly move money in and out of the country.

Apparently the IRS caught on to UBS when it audited a billionaire from
California and discovered some of the hidden assets. The billionaire
pleaded guilty to tax evasion and informed against his former UBS
private banker, Bradley Birkenfeld. When the IRS knocked on
Birkenfeld's door, he described to them the whole UBS tax evasion
program.

On July 17, the same day that the subcommittee held hearings and
released its report, UBS tried to head off the inevitable retribution
by announcing that it would stop offering offshore banking services to
U.S. clients and would cooperate with U.S. efforts to identify its
19,000 U.S. clients that it had previously failed to identify to the
Treasury.

UBS' chagrin was no doubt exacerbated by its being lumped together
with LGT. The taped testimony of the subcommittee's chief witness
against LGT, Heinrich Kleiber, was recorded in with his face in
shadows and his voice disguised.

LGT reportedly got caught when Kieber, a lowly information technology
employee and convicted felon, stole client account records in 2002 and
sold them to the authorities. The German and British governments
allegedly paid him a total of $7million for account records relating
to their citizens. Several individuals are already being prosecuted
for tax evasion, and more way be waiting for the other shoe to drop.

When the LGT scandal broke, Kieber received death threats from all
over the world, and there is reportedly a $10 million price on his
head. This, no doubt, reflects the type of clients LGT went out of its
way to recruit. Interpol is reportedly hunting for him too. Kieber is
now in hiding, with a new identity. "He's hunted, he's wanted — this
is not what I would call living the good life," said Jack A. Blum, Mr.
Kieber's lawyer. He may get to enjoy his $7 million, but we're
guessing that it won't be any time soon.

Professor Fried

Please read this first.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/2718120/Integrity-Yea-Right

As I am writng this the CBC is having their weekly talk show hosted by
a Maritimer named Rex Murphy whom I do not respect. He and another
Maritmer Mike duffy amongst legions of others know exactly who I am
and about my battles with the US Treasury Dept and a great many others
in court in Massachusetts. Even if I could get through on the p[hone
to Rex's assistant the CBC will never allow me to speak on the
publicly owned airwaves again so I will let them know that I am paying
attention bywayof this email to you.. The topic today all over Canada
is of course the ECONOMY and many highly placed people in two
purportedly profound democracies are well aware that I have been
trying to expose the wrongs of bankers and the US Treasury Dept long
before most folks ever heard of the term sub prime mortgage. The fact
that Rex just talked to a blogger in Washington is indeed very
agravting so in response i will post the email in several blogs
because is how i just learned about you and your recent personal
decision regarding the pending election in the USA.

Professor Fried I sincerely hope that you are the honest man whom  I
have been seeking for many years. I have no doubt whatsoever that the
lawyers J. Gerald Hebert, Trevor Potter, Tara Malloy and Paul Ryan in
John McCain's Campaign Legal Center, in Washington, DC. curse my name
on a daily basis lately. The first link i asked you to read is just
one of the many reasons why. Whereas the questionable actions of the
US Treasury Dept is the hot topic in the last days of this
presidential election, I will wager the lawyers will have no idea how
to answer this email so they will try hard to ignore it and not tell
their boss John McCain about it so he can continue to play dumb about
me and of my concerns about the severe lack of integrity of bankers
and their governmental cohorts.

Canadians rely on the integrity of the US Treasury Dept too. I for one
as a Proud Canadian citizen have no respect for Solitictor Generals
who fail to act within the scope of their employment for political
reasons and have practiced my right to run against their malevolent
political parties every chance I got before I sue the Her Majesty the
Queen. I truly hope that you took the time to read the link to the
document above and found your friend John McCain's answer to me in
2005. It obviously came to long before I ran for a seat in Canada's
Parliament once again and long before Stephen Harper won his first
minority mandate for the Neo Cons up here north of the 49th. If not
check the document I have provided below. McCain's is the top letter
but the next one is every bit as important particularly in light of
the fact of whom you just voted for.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/3870294/senators-obama-and-mccain-and-others

I certainly agree that you had the irrefutable right to vote for Obama
or anyone else instead of your friend McCain in advance and in private
byway of an  absentee ballot. However I don't beleive you were fully
informed. Correct? I was very impressed that you obviously ethically
informed the General Counsel of McCain lection campaign of your
decision prior to pollong day. If his General counsel were a wise man
he would have kept the letter to himself and simply removed your name
from a roster of commitees just as you requested and let the politcal
cards fall where they may. However I must confess I am very curious as
to how your letter McCain's legal counsel was leaked to the bloggers
so quickly and it does not seem that the press has picked up the ball
and ran with it yet even though the New York Times and the Anchorage
Daily News recently endorsed Obama is also well aware of your vote and
of my many emails and phone calls to them over the years. I find this
very strange to say the least.

http://www.blogrunner.com/snapshot/D/4/9/reagan_appointee_and_recent_mccain_adviser_charles_fried_supports_obama/

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/The_Fried_endorsement.html#comments

http://washingtonindependent.com/14860/mccain-adviser-endorses-obama

I also noticed that you set the record straight

"Fried writes to TNR: I admire Senator McCain and was glad to help in
his campaign, and to be listed as doing so; but when I concluded that
I must vote for Obama for the reason stated in my letter, I felt it
wrong to appear to be recommending to others a vote that I was not
prepared to cast myself. So it was more of an erasure than a public
affirmation--although obviously my vote meant that I thought that
Obama was preferable to McCain-Palin. I do not consider abstention a

With regards to my letter to Obama in 2004 before most folks ever
heard his name I must say that although Barak Obama has never answered
me I truly believe he used the material I sent him against his fellow
Democrats in order  to be chosen as the keynote speaker at the
Democratic National Convention in Boston while I was running in the
election of the 39 Parliament. I was not one bit surprised to find
myself falsly imprisoned in Massachusetts under the charges of
"Other"
as soon as I returned to the USA and stood in court on October 1st,
2004. To put it blumtly I believe you made a mistake to vote for Obama
in this wicked election. Now that the Democrats can use your name in
some sort of "October Surprise" McCain must be wondering who his
friends are within his own legal dept. In my humble opinion for what
it is worth you were indeed very wise to exit stage left before the
McCain Campaign implodes byway of its own actions.

In closing and far more importantly for the benefit of people involved
in ridiculous wars and my little Clan's rights and interests I must
point to our affairs your State of the US Union. I have no doubt
whatsoever that you knew of my wife's malicious cousin Charles J.
Kickham Jr. (he did sit on the Board of Governers of Harvard Law and
was President of the Massachusttes Bar association twice). What you
may not know is why my family and  I sued Kickham many of his cohorts
within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2002 long before Mitt
Romney was elected your Governor while one of his predecessors Paul
Cellucci was Ambassador to Canada and trying hard to talk my
nativeland into going to War with Iraq for the benefit of his bosses
George W. Bush and Colin Powell.

All Canadians should read paragraph 16 beginning on page 31 very
closely. Clearly I knew what I must do long before I did it EH Rex
Murphy and Mike Duffy?

http://www.scribd.com/doc/5352030/Politicians-and-lawyers-should-read-paragraph-16

All Yankees should check the date on these judgements.  Clearly George
W. Bush and I had a very serious problem with the integrity of his
executive offices long before the War in Iraq began.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/3024745/Judgments

Please consider carefully the things I have pointed out to you ASAP
Profeeser Fried and feel free to contact me at 506 756 8687 in order
to explain matters more thoroughly to you. the Newfy on CBC right now
Rex Murphy can feel free to do the same. I am tired of trying to call
him and being laughed at when I do managed to get through. His show is
now going off the air and the last caller came from the very town I
was born Sackville New Brunswick, the same town where that the General
Counsel of the Board of Bar Overseers Michael Fredrickson taught
briefly. (did ya notice I sued him too?). My fellow Canadian I believe
his name was Eric is pointing out to all the true problem It seems
that he forgot who he truly works for. A former Solicitor General of
the USA should understand my indignation and frustration towards the
nonsense of it all.

I must confess to be fair to you that I would find a certain joy in
stress testing the ethics of the  your adversary of old the lefty
lawyer Charles "Lefty" Morris. However i am not certain he is still
kicking after all these years. If anyone mentions my name in the media
and causes the shit to hit the fan with a rather profound October
surprise methinks he/she will become a rather famous person and indeed
a true champion of the common man  in short order. If that person
happened to be a lawyer their brothers of the bar may curse their name
for eternity but the biggest surprise would come to me. After all the
lawyers I have crossed paths with over the years I have given up on
the pipe dream of finding an ethical one. However what the hell I can
still dream? One might go for the brass ring I am dangling to suit his
own greedy ends. Everybody hates lawyers and bankers anyway. They
might as well learn to hate each other. EH Mr. Paul?

That said as you well know I talked to many of your political
associates when you sought a presidential nomination last year then
came close to losing your local nomination. Remember? Today I talked
to some of your other newfound friends for strange little third
parties. Here is my number once again 506 756 8687 just in case you or
anyone else decides to have a decent conversation with a rather fierce
but fun loving ethical Canadian politcal animal before folks caste
their votes and hope for the best South of the 49th..

As you well know Mr. Paul I sent you hard copy of my material in
August of 2007 and you did receive a great deal more documents etc
than Dennis Kucinich revieved from me 5 years ago and long before the
bankers got themselves in hot water once again. CORRECT?  Best check
the links before you call me a liar sir. Never forget Dennis Kucinich
answered me in 2003 when he made his prior bid for presidential office
and I sent you the proof of that fact too byway of the aforementioned
Hard Copy in the confirmed US Mail . EH?

Furthemore as I tore our Canadian politicians brand new arseholes
before the writ was dropped up here for the 40th Parliament and the
RCMP opted to harassed me some more I do mention you in the following
Youtube if only just in passing right show some of the documents as
well.

It seems that you Yankees don't matter to me much but why don't you
do the right thing for your benefit if not the the people you
represent before the light dawns on a lawyer like Lefty's old
marblehead that there is another lawyer/banker/writer dude named
Charlie Morris who claims to knows it all? Guess where I am gonna blog
this email for shits and giggles?

We shall see if the "Independent" understands its rights under the
1st
Amendment. They are my words not theirs posted within their blog and
anyone can sue me if they dare to call me a liar. Rest asured I stand
by my every word and have the evidence to back them up. Scroll down to
see a bit of proof that it is true.

I already know for a fact that NPR ain't worth a good god damn and I
can prove that too. Ask their old ombudsman from CBC days before you
doubt me. I saved his emails as well.

P.S. Sometimes religious folks report some truths. Too bad they don't
tell it all EH?

http://www.csmonitor.com/2008/0303/p02s01-uspo.html

"Meanwhile, the 2008 campaign is producing unusually high numbers of
credible primary challengers. Reps. Ron Paul (R) of Texas and Dennis
Kucinich (D) of Ohio curtailed their presidential campaigns to shore
up support in Tuesday primary races – and the congressional primary
season, unlike the presidential primary period, is just beginning.

"We've already seen as many incumbents knocked off in primary
elections so far this year as were defeated in all of 2006," says
David Wasserman, who analyzes House races for the Cook Political
Report. "It's a 'change' election, so primary challengers have
more
leeway to establish viability through fundraising and through
messaging."
