waited til my aunt and mother made him leave. i think that was the

amateurish behaviour since taking power last May.
There was the time that Mike Connolly gave the opposition the finger
and lied about it.
There was the time that the NDP caucus missed the vote for the chair
of committees and gooned their way past the high school students who
work as Legislature pages and demanded a re-vote.
Then, there was the time that Speaker Bob Wanner was reading decisions
that were written before any arguments were heard.
And now, the NDP ministers, the alleged best and brightest the NDP has
to offer us, can’t even answer the puff questions the NDP backbenchers
lob at them.

Edmonton City Council and Edmonton's corrupt Police Service.
Edmonton cops have been recently busted for selling drugs (steroids)
to their colleagues, are Edmontonians really supposed to be so naïve
and stupid to believe that Edmonton cops don't have the drug selling
monopoly or franchise in Edmonton? If you are an Edmonton parent who
has a child addicted to drugs, you can rest assured YOUR kid gets
their drugs from a dealer that gets his drugs from an Edmonton "police
constable."
Every cop, every Edmonton pig "speaks with forked tongue." But then
again every City employee of the City of Edmonton is a crook and
thief. From the City workers at any sewer repair or construction, you
always see one City employee actually working, and a half dozen
scumbags watching him, and getting paid for it.... To the City
Councillor taking bags of cash under the table from developers, NGOs
"sworn to the assistance of society's most vulnerable," and special
interest groups like faggots for the preservation of buggery.
Edmonton's "mayor" Don Iveson and our addicted City Council like EPS
cops, are NOT concerned about Edmontonians, but their own fucked up

It’s a classic case of NIMBY – Not in My Back Yard.
I’m sure if the city were being asked for permission to jam four
skinny houses and an LRT station on the site of the old Strathcona
Presbyterian Church, residents of the Whyte Avenue neighbourhood would
be all for it.
Infill is so trendy, they’d Ooo. And LRT is so important to building
our zero-carbon city, they’d Aww. But ask for permission to build a
16-storey tower on the site and all of a sudden the retail/social
housing/condo project becomes a neighbourhood character-killer in
neighbours’ minds.
It’ll block the sun, they cry!
It’ll ruin the vibe of our heritage neighbourhood.
We didn’t move here to live in a condo canyon.
Well, folks, welcome to the world of other Edmonton residents who’d
like to keep their neighbourhoods more or less the way they are, but
who now find themselves having to fight the City Hall Bully to keep
from being overrun by ugly, cramped new skinny houses going up next
door.
City council doesn’t care what you want. It doesn’t care that you
moved into your home to have a little green, suburban refuge (or to
live in a heritage neighbourhood). It doesn’t care if its obsession
with increasing density in the city leaves us all feeling as though
we're are occupying the middle seat on an airplane.
Density is good to council, and largely to the administration, as
well. It lowers their cost of building infrastructure in new
neighbourhoods. It increases their tax take from the same amount of
property. And it makes their dreams of a vast LRT network seem more
viable.
The Mezzo tower project, approved by council on Wednesday, will be one
block south of Whyte Avenue, on the northwest corner of 105 Street and
81 Avenue. It’s first few floors – known as a pedestal, like the
bigger bottom layer of a wedding cake – will keep the visual style of
the old post office building, the one with the clock tower immediately
to the north on Whyte Avenue.
That doesn’t bother most folks. City planners and development experts
told council the pedestal would preserve the character of Old
Strathcona.
It’s the tower built on top that’s the issue.
I happen to like the proposed look of it. And I think adding 200
housing units in that area will only contribute to the vibrant street
scene there.
But I don’t have to live near it. Or put up with the noise, traffic,
parking, trash and so on.
It easy once again to see just how fixated council is with completely
redoing the character of our city to reengineer into their vision of
the high-density, transit-dependent, urban centre of the future.
(You’d think these people were responsible for planning new and
grandiose attractions at Disney World.)
Remember, these are the same people who for years never batted an eye
at the idea of spending tens of millions of your money building a
pneumatic tube system to suck garbage to a central disposal location
in the new Blatchford development.
No futuristic scheme is too impractical for them.
So even though nearby residents said they didn’t want the Mezzo, and
city planners recommended against it (too high, too modern), council
went ahead with it anyway, once again firing up their steamroller to
Tomorrowland.
The irony (and hypocrisy) is that city administration opposed the
tower because “it does not fit in the scale and character of the
area.”
This is the same administration that, when it comes to infill in
neighbourhoods of single-family homes, says “scale and character be
damned, we want skinny houses – lots and lots of skinny houses!”
Sorry, can’t be in favour of ruining most neighbourhoods and preserving others.
