AFDI v. City of Edmonton

The Justice Centre is representing a non-profit human rights advocacy
group in a court action against the City of Edmonton. The City
cancelled bus advertisements that opposed the “honour killings” of
women and girls, in response to complaints about the ads.

In October of 2013, ads ran on Edmonton Transit buses reading “Muslim
Girls Honor Killed By Their Families”, showing photos of Aqsa Parvez
and six other women, murdered for choosing to live by Western values
like women’s equality. The rest of the ad read “Is your family
threatening you? Is there a fatwa on your head? We can help: go to
FightforFreedom.us”.

So-called “honour killings” occur when a woman is considered to have
sullied the family’s honour through some sexual indiscretion, or even
perceived immodesty. Her killing is considered to cleanse the family’s
honour. Aqsa Parvez was only 16 when she was strangled to death for
refusing to wear a hijab. Aqsa’s brother and father felt that not
wearing a head scarf dishonoured the family, so they killed Aqsa in
her own home in Mississauga, on December 10, 2007.

The transit ads were paid for by the American Freedom Defense
Initiative (AFDI), a non-profit, non-partisan human rights advocacy
group. The organization defends freedom of speech, freedom of
conscience, individual rights, and the equality of all people before
the law.

Questioning has been completed. The hearing in the Alberta Court of
Queen’s Bench in Edmonton is scheduled for September 1, 2016.

Trinity Western University asks students and faculty to sign

The Law Society of New Brunswick is asking whether students from
Trinity Western in Langley B.C., a private university, should be
admitted to the New Brunswick Bar.
Trinity Western is moving ahead with a law program where it will ask
its students to uphold biblical values.

I was a child in the Sixties. I remember the sexual revolution, and
the liberating effect on humanity of the pill. How that freed and
liberated women in so many ways. But above all and I say this sort of
tongue in cheek, it gave us all the God given human right to "fuck our
brains out," with impunity.

Then the AIDS pandemic arrived and the whole of Christendom blamed the
"whirlwind" on the "faggots" fucking and "niggers fucking monkeys" in
Africa, Christendom and the "born agains" blamed the pandemic,  on the
seeds of  depravity sown by  harlots, "secular humanists" and
promiscuity of "patient zero."  just ask Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts,
Jim and Tammy Faye Baker and the rest of the full of integrity
religious nut crowd.

The "whirlwind" has abated, well sort of. White faggots in the
"developed world are not dying so much. But the "nigger" faggots in
Africa, and South America are, but alas no one gives a shit about
these faggots. Oh yeah, "gimme that ole time religion," every time!
Calvinism at its best!

But the Faggots, Lesbos and assorted varieties of nature's mistakes
are not less hypocritical than the "I love Jesus and the sinner

concerned about the death rates of faggots in the Third World , as

vast majority of the world. The laws concerning homosexuality in
Russia, Uganda, China, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq ad infinitum, are not an
affront to the "human rights" views in these countries and societies,
but an accurate reflection of them.

Our faggot "civil society" cares more about politics and image, than
the right of Third World faggots to live. The right to life means
little to the LGBTQ community if it isn't their own lives at risk.


Homosexuality is NOT a "human right." To be "accepted" in society as a
homosexual or deviant in most of the nation-states on the planet, is
NOT any sort of inherent right. Just because it has some legality here
in Canada does NOT make it legal, acceptable or a right in another
sovereign society and or state. "Here endth the lesson," children!

The faggot and deviant crowd are continuing to bully, insult, coerce
decent people who simply don't want anything to with their "sexuality"
or them. In the name of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
 Religious groups, denominations, parishes, individual congregations,
and Christian institutions of education are targeted for abuse, by the
"brown bung hole crowd."

Trinity Western University is  a well respected educational
institution run or administered by a religious denomination. Much Like
Brigham University, Notre Dame, Maryknoll, and hundreds if not
thousands of universities in North America. They have as I understand
already received authorities from the  appropriate groups to  start a
Law School. But alas the faggot special interest groups are incensed
about the idea of Trinity Western University having a law school.
Trinity Western University akin to Brigham Young University. Liberty
Baptist College and many others require their students to adhere to a
"code of Christian conduct" whilst a student. Faggots and their
special interest organizations are furious that they are being asked
to behave themselves, not be faggots, and keep the peckers in their
pants, whilst they are students at Trinity Western College.

The faggots are whining, bitching, complaining that their inherent,
God given "right to fuck" has been removed from them. If the faggots
who seem so desirous of attending Trinity Western, and can't control
themselves whilst there, the solution seems simple enough....attend
another law school.

This appears to be another "engagement" in the faggot's battle upon
decent, normal, humans, and to bully them into accepting faggots for
what they are. Faggots and the LGBTQ "community" have long been at war
with Christians, to make them stop viewing or believing homosexuality

Trinity Western University in BC is Christian University that is
opening a law school. Church run Universities such as Notre Dame
University, and Brigham Young University are just two examples of
church affiliated institutions that abhor homosexuality and still
operate with hundreds of others, law schools.

Many Christian or religious post secondary institutions, require
students sign a pledge to adhere to a prescribed code of conduct. A
big item on the list of no no's being, no fucky fucky outside the
bounds of matrimony. This applies to all students heterosexual or
normal, and nature's anomalies. Trinity Western University is one such
school. Much to the chagrin of  fags and dykes everywhere in Canada
Trinity Western University has an undisputed record and tradition of
academic excellence. The fags that have attended there claim to have
acquired a excellent education.

Canada's faggot "community" is up in arms about a code of conduct that
all students are expected to adhere to is "discriminatory of dykes and
faggots" because it interferes with these animals "God given right of
promiscuity," or rather the animals perceive that it does.

So our faggot and dyke "community" is doing to Trinity Western  what
they castigate the Russians for doing to the LGBTQ "community" in
Russia, bullying it, and discriminating against Christians. Now that's
pretty gay. Well I guess that is "one way to win friends, influence
people, and gain acceptance within society....or not.

The LBGTQ "community" prevaricate and propagandize the numbers of
nature's little anomalies in the world. Most faggot animals claim
that 10 % of the planet are gay or Queer. Most reputable scholars put
the number betwixt 4 % or 5%. Universities and post grad programmes
are by definition "discriminatory." The stupid, lazy, weak of mind ,
the analytical, unread, without integrity and or the unaccomplished,
need not apply. That alone excludes more people on the planet, than
there are fags and dykes.

No amount of trickery, propaganda, prevarication or criminal behavior
will make more people or any people to accept these animals as real
Canadians.

There are literally scores of private religious universities in North
America. Liberty Baptist, Brigham Young University, not to mention the
scores of Jesuit run institutions. And in Canada Trinity Western
University in BC. Trinity Western University has an outstanding
academic standing and tradition or longstanding parade of great
graduates. An education obtained at Trinity Western University is an
excellent, and well regarded one.

Most of, if not all the Evangelical run schools require students to
sign a "covenant of conduct" proscribing sex with dogs, cats, gay sex,
premarital sex, sex with married women, unmarried women, no  fun with
Trannies, it is your basic "keep it in your pants agreement while
you're here covenant. This sort of thing is very common in religious
education institutions throughout North America. There is absolutely
nothing new about them, and these post secondary institutions thrive
not in spite of these practices, but because of them.

The Faggot pedophiles, and the rest of the LGBTQ "community" is and
was outraged. When Trinity Western University applied to open a Law
School some months ago. The Faggots and the rest of nature's anomalies
whine and have whined that the covenant "discriminates on the basis of
sexual orientation and questions how the law school would educate
students about discrimination and equality rights ."

Obviously this was merely another asinine attempt by the LGBTQ
"community" to politically pillory and illegally attack another
religious institution for its moral and religious integrity. Trinity
Western University is not telling Faggots not to fuck each other in
the ass. But everyone to more or less keep it in their pants or
panties.

Now our Christian Brothers at Trinity Western University had already
cleared two major hurdles to open a Faculty of Law  with the approvals
of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. And the BC Ministry of
Advanced Education. Provincial Law Societies have final say on whether
to recognize a Law School as an approved Faculty of Law.

Now our Faggot and LGBTQ sub-human friends are even more "outraged"
because yesterday the Law Society of BC in a vote of 20 to 6  approved
Trinity Western University's new Faculty of Law.

The other Provincial Law Societies must also approve it, if future TWU
Faculty of Law graduates wish to practice in the rest of Canada. There
is a schedule of upcoming votes most notably the Ontario Law Society
on April 24.

It is more than apparent TWU has won the war with the Faggots. The
decision taken by the British Columbia Law Society referenced a recent
Supreme Court of Canada decision when the Queers and animals in the BC
College of Teachers tried to prevent TWU accreditation over that same
clause. The SCOC opined in favour of Trinity Western University noting
"the proper place to draw the line, is generally between belief and
conduct." It is a fundamental right to assemble, and freely, and
openly practice religious beliefs. This the Law Societies and the SCOC
have recognized here in this instance, and other cases.

Here is another case of Faggot and LGBTQ pigs trying "run their shitty
rag up the pole"  and deny real, and normal Canadians their rights.

So to our little friend, the "gender creative" Tony Luong  another Law
School is a good thing right! Too bad YOU will never have intellectual
capacity to get into a Law School anywhere

Anatomy of a Troll
Trolls come in a variety of different sizes and shapes. Some are the
hit and run types and will create a different username and profile for
each attack while others are in it for the long haul and stick to a
single profile.

Trolls have been studied for awhile and the more thats learned about
them the more an understanding develops of what they have in common
and what drives them. Trolls love anonymity and there’s usually a good
reason for it. We’re not talking about successful popular people when
it comes to trolls. They are very often exactly as they would be
imagined – basement socially awkward dwellers with little to offer
anyone or anything. Trolls are angry at the world and try to take out
that anger by causing grief to others.

One troll in particular was outed by the BBC as part of the
documentary Panorama. A reporter tracked down a troll in Cardiff,
Wales, who goes by the handle Nimrod Severn. His real names is Darren
Burton, and he comments on memorial pages set up on Facebook to honor
those who have died. In particular, he’s fond of posting that he hopes
the deceased “rot in piss”. See the thumbnail to the left above that
was posted on Rehtaeh’s memorial page and you get the idea.

Burton fits the profile perfectly. He’s a lonely angry little man and
he gets off lashing out and causing pain to others. He didn’t seem to
impressed when he was outed. Below is a segment from the documentary:



Michael Brutsch
Another famous troll was outed last year by GAWKER‘s Adrien Chen.
Michael Brutsch, aka Violentacrez (pronounced Violent-Acres), was a
Reddit moderator who was responsible for creating such categories as
r/creepshots, r/beatingwomen, and r/jailbait. Yes, jailbait as in
images of minors.

A week after being outed, Brutsch held an interview with CNN’s
Anderson Cooper. In the interview Brutsch was apologetic about his
activity and said he made a mistake by not listening to people
concerned about his “contributions.” He also lost his job.

The risk factor in trolling has certainly changed. Anonymous and other
groups have begun outing and reporting pedophiles, rapists, and online
tormentors. They helped bring down hate pages set up following Rehtaeh
Parsons death and have been helpful with Amanda Todd’s case. Anonymous
also drove the Steubenville Rape Case and helped bring justice to a
traumatized victim.

Edmontonian/Calgarian Barry (Walter) Winters

Given the costs and embarrassment of being exposed why troll at all? I
recently asked that very question to a blogger who has written some
very disturbing things about my daughter as well as me, her mother,
Arabs, Muslims, First Nations Peoples, and many, many others. His
response thus far, other than to “dissuade” me from emailing him, has
been silence. He has gone on a panic posting spree. Getting as much
hate spread as he can before he’s gone.

To be clear, I fully support freedom of speech and am not interested
in censoring anyone, especially not for a lack of taste, class, and
decency. He can post away for all I care. I doubt anyone even visits
his pathetic site and if they do I’m sure they leave rather quickly.

I do believe there is a point when behaviour online becomes criminal.
Stating to have seen images of an underage girl naked could very well
mean this individual is accessing child pornography and that may need
to be looked into by law enforcement. I have been in touch with the
police in Edmonton. If he has accessed these images they may be on his
computer.


Barry Winters
This is Barry (Walter) Winters. Winters does work the the Department
of National Defence in Alberta, possibly in a security role. He’s run
his blog since 2009 and appears to have covered every topic under the
sun but is fixated on an individual I’ll not name (besides me, he’s
fixated on me too).

Winters emailed me, much to my surprise, when I found out through
another source he was behind the site. At first I really didn’t care
because he’s just one nut and the bowl is full, so to speak. We’ve had
lots of trolling on the memorial page and I’ve had some comments
posted here that are disgusting to be polite about it. Ignoring them
is the best policy unless they are threatening or criminal in nature.

I can’t understand the why though? Why post this type of hateful
dribble if being exposed for doing so could have serious consequences.
Winters works for DND. Do they know he wants to shoot Palestinians, or
as he calls them, “the under-evolved animals.”

The Muslim and self described “palestinian” immigrants aren’t
Canadians or fit in here as real Canadians. Lets give them, Fatima and
the kiddies ten minutes to clear out of Canada, and then start
shooting the under-evolved animals.
Or how about this one:

His claims to have seen child pornography involving Rehtaeh Parsons is
puzzling. Usually the kinds of people who view something as sick as
child porn don’t openly brag about it.

I HAVE SEEN naked pictures of Rehtaeh.
There’s a lot more filth and hateful comments on his site. I can’t
read it, it’s nothing more then the ramblings of a sad angry little
man who is so frustrated with life he just wants to share his pain. I
really hope DND takes a look at Barry. Our tax dollars should be going
to better Canadians than him.

Trolls do what they do for a reaction. They almost never think there
will be consequences for it.

Rehtaeh Parsons case prompts scrutiny of police, prosecution

Editor’s note: First of a two-part, in-depth examination of the police
investigation and Crown decisions in the Rehtaeh Parsons case.

If there were any Halifax Regional Police officers sitting at their
desks on the second Sunday in April, they would have heard the crowd
yelling from Gottingen Street.

The protest was being live-streamed. Someone started to chant.

“Do! Your! Job! Do! Your! Job!” the group shouted up at police headquarters.

It was a week after 17-year-old Rehtaeh Parsons’s death, and one thing
that had tormented her was the same thing, after her death, that
people wouldn’t let go: a photo.

In 2011, Rehtaeh had accused a group of boys of raping her while she
was drunk. After a yearlong investigation, public prosecutors reviewed
the case and advised against laying charges.

In a picture taken the night of the alleged assault, Rehtaeh was
throwing up. She was naked, as was the boy who appeared pressed up
against her, posing with a thumbs-up gesture.

The online activist group Anonymous’s involvement brought new
questions. The so-called “hacktivists” said that in a few days of
online sleuthing, they had obtained one boy’s confession.

It is a familiar pattern: recent rape accusations in Steubenville,
Ohio, and Maryville, Mo., turned into high-profile public trials of
police actions after the media and Anonymous published details about
the available evidence.

Unlike in those cases, there are no links known to The Chronicle
Herald between the boys who were accused in Rehtaeh’s case and the
authorities who handled it, including the investigating officers and
Crown lawyers.

But if Rehtaeh’s case was an example of everyday police work, an
in-depth look at it raised serious questions: about mishandled digital
evidence, a lack of interest in online clues and the apparent absence
of a specially trained unit for child pornography investigations.

Then, even with imperfect evidence, police sources said the
prosecutors’ advice came as a surprise. It’s unclear why the
prosecutors gave up on the case so quickly.

At all stages, it appears evidence was combed for hints that Rehtaeh
had lied, to the point that prosecutors appear to have overlooked
information supporting her allegations.

Police reopened the case after the girl died, and this summer they
laid child pornography-related charges against two teenage males, one
18 and the other 19, saying again that the evidence “did not support
the laying of sexual assault charges.”

The identities of the accused are shielded by the Youth Criminal
Justice Act because they were under the age of 18 at the time of the
alleged offences.

An independent review of police and the public prosecution office, to
begin once the teens are out of court, may answer some of these
questions. None of the authorities commented this month, saying they
will wait until after the review.

Cellphones weren’t seized from alleged assailants

While Rehtaeh was alive, police never interviewed any of the boys she
had accused, even as they closed her case.

Of the four boys who were present, two gave their accounts this past
Aug. 8, the same day they were charged.

But officers also missed another surefire opportunity to peek into
their lives. They didn’t seize any of their phones, computers or hard
drives. Nothing was seized, said a police source who saw the case
file.

Rehtaeh voluntarily turned over her own phone, a move that her family
came to have misgivings about.

The decision about the boys’ phones is more striking because police
knew from the start that there was a photo involved.

When investigating possible child pornography, it’s standard practice
to seize electronic devices, said Michael Moran, an Interpol
investigator who specializes in that field.

“I think best practice would be to seize the device, for best evidence
purposes,” Moran said.

Halifax police are no stranger to this option. They routinely seize
the phones of drug dealers and witnesses to crimes if they believe
there’s photo or video evidence to be found, said David Fraser, a
Halifax lawyer who specializes in privacy law.

“If you’re dealing with a child pornography investigation … the first
thing you do is seize the phone,” he said. “That seems to me so
blindingly obvious that I can’t understand why that didn’t happen.”

The police source said that instead of seizing the devices, the
investigators got one or more search warrants for certain students’
cellphone data.

Leah Parsons, Rehtaeh’s mother, said the lead investigator told her in
January 2012 that she had gone to BlackBerry Inc., then called
Research in Motion.

Rehtaeh had provided a list of 10 to 12 of her classmates’ PINs, Parsons said.

“That was taking months, to get the information back from RIM,” she recalled.

Police could have gleaned more from the phones themselves.

Companies don’t store customer data for long, and what they do keep
often comes as logs of data sent and received, not the content of the
messages.

BlackBerry, for example, only keeps the content of emails for up to 30
days, and even then, only under certain conditions, said Chris
Parsons, a University of British Columbia researcher.

January 2012 was about three months after Rehtaeh made her formal complaint.

BlackBerry may also not be able or willing to turn over BlackBerry
Messenger or PIN messages, Fraser said. The company would not answer
questions about what type of data it can make available to police.

The expertise of the investigating officers makes a big difference
with data warrants, Fraser said.

“A lot of it comes down to, I expect, what could they get, what did
they try to get, did they miss the window of opportunity to get it —
did they even know what to ask for?”

Rehtaeh’s case was handled by the integrated sexual assault
investigation team, a unit made up of Halifax Regional Police and RCMP
officers. Potential child pornography was outside their area of
expertise.

It was just one way that officers were handling a type of case they
weren’t prepared for.

Ignoring online information

When Rehtaeh’s classmates talked to each other in the fall of 2011,
they didn’t only do it face to face or in texts.

As with many teens, Facebook was a favourite way to chat, said
Rehtaeh’s friend Bryony Jollimore.

A lot of them also had Instagram, she said, and it was the heyday in
Cole Harbour of Formspring.me, where users could question each other
anonymously (and often viciously).

Those intangible places are native habitat for Anonymous. The
“confession” the group announced on April 12 came in a Facebook
message.

Much content on social media is public, especially with the average
teen’s less-than-strict privacy settings. But private messages can be
obtained — most easily by seizing a phone or computer. When Facebook
or other sites are accessed through apps, phones keep copies of the
messages, Fraser said.

Police knew there were written messages and exchanges that could be
relevant to the case. Rehtaeh, in Grade 10 at the time, took it upon
herself to record online posts for police, her mother said.

“She would screenshot them and send them,” Parsons said. “She’d get
text messages, she’d do that munch screen (Screen Muncher), whatever
it is, and she would give it to them.”

Parsons said she was told at one point that a Facebook statement by
one of the boys would be useless in court.

In June, speaking about another turn in the case, Cpl. Scott MacRae of
the RCMP said local police have trouble dealing with social media.

“Anything on social media is very hard for investigators to
substantiate and verify,” he said. “Social media has its good points
for communication, but it also operates without rules.”

Facebook posts have been used in Canadian courts many times.

Two brothers’ Facebook posts were at the centre of a recent defamation
case at the University of Calgary. There was never any question of
going to California-based Facebook Inc. to prove the origins of the
messages, said their lawyer, Timothy Boyle. The brothers simply
“acknowledged from the outset” they had written them, he said.

Even if local police only wanted background information, they could
probably take pointers from Anonymous.

The online activists started off much like police: with tips. People
from Eastern Passage and Cole Harbour helped them identify the four
boys involved.

A small group of Anonymous activists who examined Rehtaeh’s case told
The Chronicle Herald, by email, where they went from there.

They said they have some special skills, but everything they did was legal.

Once they had identified the four boys, they began “hunting down as
much information on them as possible, including any trace of their
past and present activity online.”

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter all yielded information about
the case, they said. The most valuable sites in this case were likely
Facebook and YouTube, they said.

They submitted a package of information to police. Chronicle Herald
reporters independently came up with at least some of the same
materials over the course of several weeks.

As for their search techniques, they said they’re not out of reach for
the average person.

“Most people don’t realize that almost everything they do online gets
archived. Just because you type your name in to Google and nothing
shows up doesn’t mean anything. Some information is even tagged with
location data, whether it’s posted from a mobile device or not,” the
Anonymous group wrote.

“Some tools utilized will gather information and posts and make
connections between people that are no longer publicly visible. These
tools are useful, legal and can be utilized with minimal training.”

Not only are police officers in Halifax not expected to track down
information on social media, they’re prevented from trying.

According to one Mountie, most websites are blocked on officers’
computers at the headquarters Halifax Regional Police share with
Halifax District RCMP.

Officers can’t log on to Facebook, for example.

One exception is the special unit that works with Halifax’s indigenous
population. Another is the integrated child exploitation unit, or ICE,
which handles child pornography cases.

Where was ICE?

ICE’s know-how when it comes to anything electronic, especially
photos, far surpasses what most other officers can do.

The specialized RCMP units exist across the country, including in Halifax.

ICE is likely to seize phones when possible instead of going for a
data warrant. It also has the ability to investigate online.

It’s unclear when local police forces began seeing Rehtaeh’s case as a
possible instance of child pornography, why the case was assigned
primarily to the sexual incident response team or whether ICE officers
were asked to advise.

Rehtaeh spoke about the photo during her formal complaint in November
2011, said her mother. Soon after, police interviewed her friend
Breonna McInnis, who had tracked down the photo so the Parsons family
could provide it to police. Officers wanted to know how Breonna had
found it, she said.

An RCMP source said he believed the ICE unit wasn’t involved in the
case at any time in that first year. A Halifax Regional Police source
said he didn’t recall seeing a reference to ICE in the original case
file. Leah Parsons said she heard the unit mentioned but only after
her daughter’s death.

Nova Scotia RCMP have refused to say whether ICE was involved in 2011 or 2012.

“For police to discuss what units are being involved in the
investigation may compromise current operational and investigative
techniques,” the force said last spring in an emailed statement.

The RCMP would only comment in the present tense, referring to the
second, reopened phase of the investigation. MacRae, the spokesman,
was asked to limit his response to the earlier phase; he took the
question to superiors, who told him not to rephrase it.

It’s unclear why this information was considered off limits. In an
April news release, the RCMP revealed several similar details,
including that the investigation had been headed by a female officer
with the sexual incident response team.

If non-specialized officers oversee computer-heavy cases, one problem,
aside from lack of expertise, is that it can make for a heavy
workload. In Rehtaeh’s case, that seems to have been one reason the
investigation took so long.

Parsons thought police were interested in about 10 to 12 phones. As a
comparison, Steubenville police in Ohio looked at 13 phones, said
Steubenville Police Chief William McCafferty.

Together, those phones contained about 300,000 photos, 940 videos and
96,000 texts.

At about the time Rehtaeh was in the IWK Health Centre’s psychiatric
ward in Halifax in 2012, her mother called police for an update. She
said the lead officer told her she had the data back from BlackBerry
and it would take a long time to get through it.

That conversation, and the police source who saw the file, suggest
that in the end, police missteps didn’t stop them from gathering some
useful digital data. The file noted that BlackBerry had responded to
the warrant, said the police source.

In particular, the source said, investigators very likely had a trail
of the significant photo. They already had its unique data marker, so
they could have traced its path between phones with the results of the
warrant.

Police also appear to have gotten at least a log of texts, and maybe
some messages themselves.

“It’s amazing what Big Brother keeps on you,” the police source said.
