CJPME celebrates with the Green Party membership for its strong endorsement
of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement this past Sunday. CJPME
was honoured to be an important supporting player in this historic BDS vote,
with CJPME observers active behind the scenes at the Green Party Convention.
BDS is a movement applying economic pressure on Israel until it respects the
human rights of Palestinians in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.
The BDS resolution had strong opponents at the weekend’s convention,
including opposition from Green leader Elizabeth May. Nevertheless, through
the hard work of many Green Party members and the support of CJPME and other
groups, the resolution passed with an overwhelming majority. In fact, the
support was so strong that the resolution passed by acclamation, with no
need to count votes.
CJPME prepared for the convention by preparing two flyers providing
supportive arguments for the two key resolutions of the convention. CJPME
prepared a powerful flyer supporting the BDS resolution, depicting Israel’s
violation of Palestinian human rights, and the way BDS aligns with
international law. The second flyer highlighted the racist land use
practices of the Jewish National Fund (JNF.) The JNF was targeted in a
second Green party resolution which passed, but in a watered-down form.
The Battle isn't over
The Green Party is facing criticism as opponents of the party seek to vilify
it. Now more than ever, the GPC leadership needs to hear messages of
support.

The Green Party had two resolutions relating to Israel-Palestine at last
week’s Convention. One resolution called for the Green party to support the
BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement targeting Israel until
Israel bans “settlement” construction and enters into good faith
negotiations with the Palestinians. This resolution was very well-reasoned,
and cited international law and previous precedent in calling for support
for BDS. This resolution passed!
The second resolution had to do with the Canadian affiliate of an
organization which discriminates against Palestinians. This resolution asks
the Green Party of Canada to call for “the Canada Revenue Agency to revoke
the charitable status of the Jewish National Fund [JNF] for contravening
public policy against discrimination and for its failure to comply with
international human rights law.” The resolution cited Israel’s own Attorney
General who charged the JNF with practicing institutional discrimination
against non-Jewish citizens of Israel. This resolution passed, but only
after being amended to target all racist charities, and having all
references to the JNF removed.
Elizabeth May has waffled terribly on the BDS issue since the vote. She has
gone so far as to say that she opposes the resolution, and may not be able
to support it publicly.
Officially, the Green Party has some good party policy on the
Israel-Palestine conflict. Elizabeth May has never been good about publicly
representing party policy on Middle East issues. Also, the Middle East and
Israel-Palestine is not May’s area of strength. By demonstrating Canadian
support for these resolutions, we show May that these resolutions are good
policy.

CJPME is delighted to announce that the United Church of Canada (UCC) voted
earlier today to boycott products from Israel's illegal colonies (a.k.a.
"settlements.") CJPME was present at the Church Convention, and had been
speaking with (and distributing information) to church delegates attending
the convention since Saturday. This vote, and related church resolutions
represent a significant and exciting step forward for the boycott movement
in Canada.
The vote today solidified broad support within the church for Palestinian
human rights. CJPME representatives found church convention delegates to be
highly informed on the issue of Israel-Palestine. Many of the church
delegates had been to Israel-Palestine, and had observed first-hand the
human rights abuses against Palestinians. The UCC resolution echoes similar
motions passed by Presbyterian and Methodist churches in recent months in
the United States.
The resolution, however, was not without its powerful opponents. The
pro-Israel lobby was also active at the church convention, as evidenced by
the presence of the "Centre for Israel and Jewish Advoacy" (CIJA), and
"Faithful Witness," a Christian Zionist organization.
The United Church of Canada (UCC) has been considering some type of economic
action in support of Palestinian human rights for several years. CJPME
supported this direction within the church as actively as it could, both
formally and informally. For example, in 2011, CJPME leaders met with the
UCC Working Group on Israel-Palestine and challenged the church to act on
its deep knowledge of the human rights abuses suffered by the Palestinians.
CJPME and the other Solidarity organizations active on the UCC file have
much to celebrate through this vote. CJPME members and supporters have much
to be proud of. May the momentum from this vote carry on to other boycott
issues, organizations and companies in the coming months and years in
Canada.

The very vast majority of those calling for "justice" for "palestine", or
"social justice" here at home, are "layabouts" as "maritimers" refer to
them, and uneducated people who have never been to the Middle East, nor have
any idea about the conflict there.
Canada, the Government Du Canada not only recognizes Israel but supports its
right to defend itself from, Iran, the Arab League, Hezzbolah, HAMAS, and so
called "palestinians". Calgary MP Rob Anders was quite right, "when in
doubt, pull the trigger", in regards to Canadian soldiers dealing with
Afghan terrorists, or Flotilla 13 or other IDF Spec-war troops dealing with
"activists".
The fact is; 'high profile activists" did not accompany the "freedom
flotilla". Weapons, inordinate amounts of cash", Intel materials, and
materials to build military fortifications were found on the ships.
The fact is; wounded "activists" refused to identify themselves to the
Israel Border Guard Service, as did quite a number of Arab "activists" from"
Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and so called "palestinians". Why not if these
people were "humanitarians" doing their bit for the"poor people of Gaza"?
The fact is; that many ignorant Canadians that support the so called
"freedom flotilla" do not know or care that the Government of Israel, will
not allow the blockade of Gaza to be breached. Nor do these people
understand the people of Israel by the vast majority...do NOT want Israeli
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to end the blockade of Gaza. The people of
Israel, do NOT want HAMAS to further import weapons into Gaza....to kill
Israeli women and children with. The Israeli people overwhelmingly well over
90% supported OP Cast Lead, last year.
The reality is: This will soon blow over. The next convoy of "activist
ships" will no doubt receive a "shot across the bows", Israeli spec-war
operators will board...and they won't be armed with "paint-ball guns" this
time. It will indeed be case of "mess with the best, and you will dead with
the rest.
The reality is: North and South Korea may will begin hostilities over North
Korea torpedoing and Republic of South Korea ASW vessel. There are impending
NATO and Taliban offensives in Afghanistan. the first Hurricane of the
season will soon be upon us and the EU and the rest of the Global Economy is
not yet emerged out of recession ...unlike that of Canada.
The United States of America or the President thereof will NOT condemn
Israel, and will veto any UNSC resolution condemning Israel because Israel
didn't do anything wrong....and the Democrats need both the Jewish vote and
Jewish lobby if it hopes to survive November's mid-term elections.
Here in Canada, the government will continue to support Eretz Israel, and
the Liberals are not going to make any change in the Parliamentary situation
for anytime in the 4 to 5 years. The next government in Canada will be due
to a new majority Tory Parliament and by then the Red Chamber will also be
Tory.

their retirement. Now Mom at 75 pays taxes that support a lazy hooker like

I am 55 and my taxes go to feed animals like Amos and Reid. The people that

I spend well over six months a year (most years now) and Gaza not getting

What does Amerika, the "Truther" movment, "God" and retards have to do
with Canada
We do not have to worry about comment from Little Dean and Dave...they
are to uneducated to understand most posts
So have you seen them, been annoyed or insulted by them, have you
smelled their disease? Have you ever crossed the "medicine line" and
seen some Yank being taken into custody because he just has..."this
constitutional right to bear arms"...in Canada. I remember years ago
when the debate was on in Canada, about there being weapons of mass
destruction in Iraq. Our American 'friends" demanded that Canada join
into "the Coalition of the Willing.
American "veterans" and sportscasters loudly denounced Canada for NOT
buying into the US policy. At the time I was serving as a planner at
NDHQ and with 24 other of my colleagues we went to Tampa SOUCOM HQ to
be involved in the planning in the planning stages of the op....and to
report to NDHQ, that would report to the PMO upon the merits of the
proposed operation.
There was never at anytime an existing target list of verified sites
where there were deployed WMD. Coalition assets were more than
sufficient for the initial strike and invasion phase but even at that
point in the planning, we were concerned about the number of "boots on
the ground" for the occupation (and end game) stage of an operation in
Iraq.
We were also concerned about the American plans for occupation plans
of Iraq because they at that stage included no contingency for a
handing over of civil authority to a vetted Iraqi government and
bureaucracy. There was no detailed plan for Iraq being "liberated" and
returned to its people...nor a thought to an eventual exit plan.
This was contrary to the lessons of Vietnam but also to the military
thought, that folks like Colin Powell and "Stuffy" Leighton and others
illucidated upon. "What's the mission" how long is the mission, what
conditions are to met before US troop can redeploy?
Prime Minister Jean Chretien and the PMO were even at the very
preliminary planning stages wary of Canadian involment in an Iraq
operation....History would prove them correct. The political preesure
being applied on the PMO from the George W Bush administration was
onerus
American military assets were extremely overstretched, and Canadian
military assets even moreso It was proposed by the PMO that Canadian
naval platforms would deploy to assist in naval quarantene operations
in the Gulf and that Canadian army assets would deploy in Afghanistan
thus permitting US army assets to redeploy for an Iraqi operation....
The PMO thought that "compromise would save Canadian lives and liberal
political capitial.. and the priority of which ....not neccessarily in
that order. Essentially Canada detemined to stay out of Iraq, paid the
price, of a larger role in Afghanistan to enable US military assets to
redeploy to Iraq.
The US op in Afghanistan evolved from a US op, to a UN op, to a NATO /
ISAF op. NATO countries other than Canada and the UK shun combat
operations in Afghanistan..their rules of deployment and engagement
mitigate against NATO troops engaging the Taliban. By design I am
quite sure.
But now the American Iraq op, is a great success. The "surge" worked.
But alas now 127 Canadian soldiers are dead. The 2011 deadline is
coming nigh....and President Barak Obama and NATO want Canada to
consider extending the deployment of Canadian troops. The motives are
different. The US wants to... needs to, as matter of national
security, to defeat insurgency in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Our
European allies want Canada to remain and continue to "punch above its
weight" so European soldiers do not have to actually fight or die.
That begs a few questions: "Nations do not have friends, nations have
interests" -Henry Kissinger. Is American national security re
terrorism in Afghanistan and Pakistan compatable with Canadian
national interests? If this country, Canada is going to be a
continuing ally in "the war against terror"....should not our "friends
and neighbours across the medicine line be more amenable in matters of
trade, or just living up to their free trade agreements. If our
"friends and neighbours" to the south want Canadians to fight side by
side...maybe that 7 % Softwood lumber tariff was a mistake...or the
buy American provision in the currant stimulus plan ought to be re
thought.
Our American "friends" give Israel roughly 3 billion dollars a year to
be spent buying weapons systems from US defense contactors...to
survive (both Israel and US defense industries) Perhaps US dollars
should flow to Canada to buy weapons systems and patrol aircraft and
naval platforms...after all, aren't we your "friends and allies"?
There is nothing similar with American culture, and politics between
Canada and the US. Canada evolved into nation status and the US,
revolted violently. This difference in the means we became
nations...has greatly defined who and what we are.
Our American "friends" look upon Canada as cultural, economic and
political satrap.... Now to their great consternation they are finding
out... that is NOT the case . Nothing good came to Canada by way of
America. The military "schewir punct" should be defense of our
continental shelf and the arctic.
Canada does need to stop shipping unrefined bitumen to the US and
totally refine it here and start building a pipeline for bitumen to
Canada's west coast to sell to Asian and the Chinese market. It is
more than past time to understand ..our American "friends" are not our
friends at all.

persecutions there has been a 100% conviction rate, not one acquital,

There is NO role for the "government" or a Human Rights Commission to
monitor or censor "hate speech", or to adjudicate anything between
anybody. To wit; our American Cousins do not have "Human Rights
Commisions to deprive anyone of their Constituional right to express
themselves.
The Canadian Human Rights Commision as all provincial human rights
commisions are opposed by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association,
Jewish advocacy groups and ALMOST EVERY NEWSPAPER EDITORIAL BOARD IN
THE COUNTRY.
Two things come to mind. Two threats these predominately women from
fourteen "human rights commisioners" are upon Canadian's come to mind.

It is contrary to the CCof C to advocate hate, make threats, incite

identifiable group. It is NOT a crime, or criminal offense to be

or have exceeded their authority like the KGB and Gestapo to persecute
Canadians for what they say, write, and think. In BC an eatery was
fined for forcing food service employees to....wash their hands. In
Ontario a Christian printer MUST take the business of faggot special
interest groups...why there are other printers?
Jennifer Lynch wants the Canadian Human Rights Commision to Censor the
nation's newspapers with a standards board, which every news media

to Ashdod.Well it is indeed nice to know that IDF "flotilla 13"
personnel wereable to expedite these "martyrs" passage to paradise and
the 71 hairyvirgins waiting for each one of them.......Let the
"intifada" begin! The correlation of forces and situation issuch now
that "palestinian" armed resistance" would result in thedestructionof
the very "palestinian society" these "people" had hopedto build. But
now, the PA and Abou Mazen will no doubt do what in thelong term is a
favour to Eretz Israel, by pulling out of the"proximity talks" rather
than Israel doing so.....By next November theUS adminstration will
have less sway and Barak Obama and HillaryClinton will have NO
"stroke" in the Middle East or Israel.

Early on Monday, May 31, the Israeli Navy attacked an aid flotilla of
several ships bound for Gaza, killing 19 activists on board. This
attack was illegal and immoral, as the ships were in international
waters, and the ships carried only civilians and aid for Gaza. Canada
must join European countries, immediately condemning the attack, and
addressing the issue directly with Israeli PM Netanyahu.

The Freedom Flotilla was to have been made up of eight ships, from
various European countries, including Ireland, Turkey and Greece. The
ships were carrying construction materials, as well as medical and
educational supplies.
The people onboard the ships included members of various world
Parliaments, UN staff, human rights and trade union activists, as well
as journalists. The Flotilla was the largest contingent of ships that
had attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, since Israel began
its siege of the occupied Palestinian territory in 2007.
Prior humanitarian efforts to deliver aid to Gaza by ship were met
with resistance by the Israeli Navy. While aid boats have been rammed
and shot at in the past, this is the first time Israel has acted with
such extreme violence.
International leaders have reacted strongly to the attack. UN
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he was "shocked" by the attack.
Middle East peace envoy Tony Blair talked of "deep regret and shock"
at the deaths. Turkey recalled its ambassador from Israel. UK Foreign
Secretary William Hague said he "deplores the loss of life" and called
for limits on aid for Gaza to be lifted.
While news is still breaking, initial reports indicated that 19
activists had been killed, and 36 had been wounded.

rappelé son ambassadeur en Israël. Le ministre britannique des
Affaires étrangères, William Hague, a déclaré qu'il « déplore les
pertes en vies humaines » et a demandé à ce que les limites sur
l'acheminement de l'aide à Gaza soient levées.
Bien que les nouvelles sur l'état de la situation soient encore mises
à jour, les rapports initiaux ont indiqué que 19 militants avaient été
