Conservative lead over Liberals holding

The Conservatives have a narrow lead over the Liberals, as their support has increased over the first three weeks of the campaign. However, the Liberals remain slightly favoured to win the most seats due to how the two parties' support breaks down across the country. The New Democrats have made gains but are still well back in third, while the Bloc Québécois is still in a position to win most of the seats it won in 2019. The Greens are in fifth place behind the People's Party.

Hey

CARP thanking me for the info just won't do anymore. However thank you
for acknowledging the fact that you know I am still breathing and mad
as hell but at least still having a little fun politicking against all
the smiling bastards who screw us all. Just so ya know Michelle. I am
over fifty. I consider the possiblity of a heart attack as something
serious that should not be ignored. By the same logic your Advocacy
Team should not ignore the fact that I am considering suing CARP. If
your people do not understand why, talk to the people I have talked to
in your offices in the past. Somebody named Sky would be a good place
to start. Then perhaps you should call the nasty cop Dean Buzza at
IMET. Ask him if I didn't sound as serious as a heart attack last week
when I demanded that he get off his ass and act within the scope of
his employment. Crooked cops who talk tough don't scare me a bit. If
the people who advise the over fifty folks were truly wise you would
not waste my precious time anytime and call me ASAP before i embarass
you out of your business. In case you haven't figured it out I am
protecting your rights and interests too. We should be on the same
side of this battle against the rampant public corruption that Stevey
boy Harper lamented about in order to get elected for the benefit of
his buddy George W. Bush. the only true thing that Franky Boy McKenna
ever said was that Harper was a lapdog for Bush and he said in rally
of the liberal kissarses wanting to getting their big bad old buddy
Rotten Ralphie Goodale reelected to sit in the very wicked 38th
Parliament.

Here is my number 506 434 1379 This time please do not allow the
person who calls me to play dumb. That only serves to piss me off and
I do not want my blood pressure up any higher. Delay me or deny me if
you wish but know this. Before I summons CARP to court I will send
your lawyers the very same material that New Brunswick Securities
Commission just bounced back to me . Lets just say I am very curious
to see if a copy of a wiretap tape will give your lawyers a stroke and
finally make them see the light. One of your lawyers if he is truly a
clever camper would ask Mr. Emerson why he quit Rogers Media long
after he and I had a long talk but just before I head to court. I
would be greatly interested in his response.I already know he is a
liar I just want someone to witness fast I can prove it. There is no
denying that I can be as mean as snake. That comes with old age N'est
Pas? To put it simply I have no time for Bullshit anymore. Methinks we
should be friends not foes. What say you?

Hey Mr. Stokes
Thanks for the suggestion. As you should know the most glaring example
of a company that has been raping the Maritimes with abandon for many
years is obviously the Irving Empire. However lately there are some
very nasty new players on the scene such a PCS and Corridor Resourses
etc etc. I am very busy these days and I am not a journalist. You
people are though yet it seems you would rather me say the awlful
truth than yourselves because of some possible lawsuit EH?

So be it. I will because it is not slander if one's words are true.
Perhaps you should consider checking my work and then come to court
sometime in order to listen to me argue all the smiling bastards. You
can have much of my work in a click of the button of my mouse. But
first please allow me to introduce you to the New Brunswick Securities
Commission. I got a rather interesting response from them today whilst
I was in Fredericton. They have ignored my concerns for almost a year
but now that Bernie Lord's government is getting tipsy, it appears all
the bad actors want to show me their arse just in time for me to boot it.

It is Securities Commissions such as this that allow many publicly
held companies such as Corridor Resources or Magna Entertainment etc
to get away with many things rather than remind them of the law and on
how they should conduct business in an ethical fashion. That said,
these Commisssions have no say whatsoever over the Irving Empire and
that is truly bad. It is a privately held corporation that knows very
well the power of money and on how to pay off greedy politicians in
order to get anything they want. In the nutshell of the Maritimes that
is quite simply everything. It seems that I am the only Maritimer who
is not afraid of the ghost of mean old KC Irving and his monoply game.
It has always been hard times in the Maritimes. We lament about it all
the time but our apathy and fear of the Irvings etc gives us the
govenments we deserve.

Print this if you wish. You are off the hook that Irving's lawyers
threaten ordinary folks with. I am fearless yet never reckless with
the truth. I stand by my own words and invite anyone to sue me if they
think I am a liar and wish to argue me. I hate it when the
chickenshits send crooked cops against me bearing false allegations in
a faint hearted effort to shut me up. It does the smiling bastards no
good and only serves to make matters worse.

RE: Securities Fraud and Public Corruption

Sir,

Pursuant to our conversation today please find enclosed exactly the
same material sent to the eight other provincial Attorney Generals in
Canada before I returned to my native land again this year. Obviously
the AGs Brad Green and Tom Marshall have known the truth of my matters
since the summer of 2004. They have maliciously ignored my false
imprisonment in the USA for their own political benefit. The tapes
enclosed are exactly the same copies that were served upon the lawyers
acting for Rogers Media byway of their newsman Tom Young today. As you
listen to the tape you will hear that I mentioned your Commission on
air in Saint John weeks ago. Methinks you should have called me then
instead of waiting for me to contact you again today.

The tapes and the CD of wiretap tape #139 are served upon the
Commission's lawyers Ms. Ball and Ms. Losier as in confidence as
officers of the court in order that my allegations of illegal wiretaps
by crooked law enforcement authorities may be finally properly
investigated ASAP by ethical law enforcement authorities. Hopefully
this will be done before I sue the Crown about my false imprisonment
but I am not holding my breath. April 3rd is coming fast. Upon your
study of these documents you will see that I have not yet given the
Yankee SEC all of my evidence of Securities Fraud. However every
Attorney General in Canada has been made well aware of it for quite
sometime before the SEC declared it was willing to investigate the
actions of the former Minister of Finance Ralph Goodale. To date not
one person has responded me nor did me the simple courtesy of
returning my calls or emails as you finally did today.

Clearly I must complain of the Crown myself without delay before
further harm is done to my Clan. Rest assured I will be calling you,
Mr. Hancox and the lawyers within your Commission to testify at a
trial of my matters in Federal Court in Fredericton. A very pigheaded
yet ethical Maritimer knows that justice has been delayed way past too
long for the benefit of public corruption and not the public trust. I
will not wait for anyone on public service to act within the scope of
their employment anymore. To put it simply, after our conversation
today I had no faith that you were willing to do your job.

FIRST READING: Poll shows Canadians really hate this election, Sheila Copps turns on Trudeau

Also, the French debate insults you missed

Throughout Election 44 we are publishing this special daily edition of First Reading, our politics newsletter, to keep you posted on the ins and outs (and way outs) of the campaign. To get an early version sent direct to your inbox every weekday at 6 p.m. ET

The first leaders debate was last night. It was held entirely in French and only featured the top four party leaders (the Greens and the PPC weren’t invited). Here are the main points everyone seemed to be happy/angry about:

  • Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau said that if he doesn’t get a majority, Canada might be going to the polls again in 18 months.
  • All of Trudeau’s opponents slagged him for calling an election amidst a pandemic and the Afghanistan crisis. Trudeau responded that the election was needed to “find a way out of the pandemic.”
  • Bloc Québécois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet urged Trudeau to “grow a spine” (“fais-toi pousser une colonne”) during a debate on the environment (he also wanted Ottawa to use all the money that it spent on the Trans Mountain pipeline and give it to Quebec instead).
  • Blanchet accusing NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh of harbouring “Quebec-bashing” in his ranks, specifically referencing NDP candidates who have accused Quebec of racism.
  • Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole said he wouldn’t reverse the Liberal ban on assault-style rifles (even though his platform says they would).
  • Singh said that between the Liberal and Conservative environmental policies, “we have a choice between more fossil fuels or all fossil fuels.”
  • O’Toole said that Quebec needs a “partner, not a papa,” pitching himself as the less interventionist choice for prime minister.

In French, there are formal and informal pronouns. One detail missed by Anglophones watching the English translation of Thursday’s debate is that leaders occasionally insulted each other by using the informal pronoun. Trudeau’s first reference to O’Toole, for instance, employed the informal pronoun “tu” before quickly switching to the formal one (“vous”).

An analysis of post-debate Quebec voter sentiment compiled by Polly, an artificial intelligence engine that examines public social media posts. While Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet was Quebec’s clear favourite in the debate, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole got second place, largely on the strength of his pledges to avoid federal intervention on the issue of health care.

Sheila Copps, the former deputy prime minister under Jean Chretien, has long been one of the internet’s more fervent Liberal partisans. After Trudeau controversially fired justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould in 2019, Copps defended the prime minister’s feminist credentials by noting “Trudeau has not said b—h to anyone. Even though it may apply.” Now, in a column for the Hill Times, Copps claimed that if the Liberals want to win, they have to ditch their leader.

A Montreal event by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh was delayed Thursday because a poutine truck broke down. The NDP is pushing hard to recapture seats in the province, and so decided to hand out servings of the iconic French-Canadian cuisine to potential voters in advance of Thursday’s leaders debate. A food truck decorated in NDP livery appeared to suffer engine troubles on the way to the event and had to be towed.

One of O’Toole’s weirdest election pledges is CANZUK, his proposal to forge a series of military and economic alliances with Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. This hasn’t really been a major policy issue among Conservative circles, and O’Toole was the Conservative leadership candidate to mention it. On Thursday, the Conservative leader was pitching CANZUK as a way to make it easier for Canadians to work and study in the world’s other English-speaking constitutional monarchies.

It looks like Maryam Monsef, the Liberal minister who referred to the Taliban as “our brothers,” may not win re-election. A Mainstreet Research poll of her riding, Peterborough-Kawartha, found Conservative candidate Michelle Ferreri in a clear lead with 34 per cent of the popular vote.

During a press conference in Toronto Centre, Green Party Leader Annamie Paul accidentally appeared to endorse the Liberals. “If you want a real plan, one that is going to grow our economy, that is going to put us at the front of the competitive green economy of the future, help us to join the green rush, then the only option in this election for you is the Liberals,” she said. Paul later clarified that she was actually speaking about the Green Party.

LET’S POLL

Erin O’Toole entered this campaign as the single least popular party leader. Now, after the first leaders debate, a Nanos Research poll had O’Toole as Canada’s leading choice for prime minister. Of Canadians polled, 31.1 per cent wanted the Tory leader in the prime minister’s chair, against 27.3 per cent who wanted to keep Trudeau and 19.6 per cent who wanted NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.

One of the most unifying issues among Canadian voters right now is apparently that we shouldn’t have to be doing any of this. Another new Nanos Research poll found that 76 per cent of Canadians saw no reason for an election. Canadians usually hate it whenever they have to go to the polls more than once every four years, but the election hate is particularly strong this time around, Nik Nanos with Nanos Research told The Globe and Mail.

SOLID TAKES

Rupa Subramanya is probably the first Canadian pundit to compare Trudeau to a third-world strongman, and the reference is not flattering. Subramanya’s contention is that Liberal supporters have held onto their guy well past the point that the partisans of most other parties would have enthusiastically sent him packing. Specifically, she wrote about how Trudeau’s retention of a potential sex abuser among his candidates has not appeared to move the needle whatsoever among legions of supporters who previously praised the Liberal leader’s feminism. “Quite honestly, this sounds more like the politics in third world democracies,” she wrote.

Warren Kinsella usually appears in this section with columns bashing Trudeau, but he had praise for the Liberal leader in Thursday night’s debate. “When he speaks in English, Liberal Leader Trudeau is too often affected and phony. But in the French debate, Trudeau didn’t look or sound like he was acting,” wrote Kinsella.

Erin O’Toole isn’t a “weather vane” who changes positions with the breeze, writes John Ivison, but the former corporate lawyer does have a habit of abruptly changing tack on issues should the prior position prove politically untenable. Among a couple of examples noted by Ivison, O’Toole won the Conservative leadership by promising to cut funding to CBC, and then prompted neglected to ever bring it up again.

ELECTION INSIGHTS

For the rest of Election 44, the National Post will be sharing insights from Polly, an artificial intelligence engine developed at the University of Ottawa that was the only pollster to correctly predict the results of the 2019 election. Today, we looked at abortion. Despite the fact that all of Canada’s major parties have spent 30 years pledging to keep the status quo on abortion, it’s still an issue with the power to flip elections.

FOR RENT: HAUNTED APARTMENT
APRIL CUNNINGHAM TELEGRAPH-JOURNAL
SAINT JOHN There are some tenants who steer away from renting
apartments where eerie spirits lurk from centuries past.
And there are others who might embrace it.
Jason Fillmore is taking a gamble that his latest online advertisement
might lure the latter: people who arent afraid of sharing their digs
with a ghost or two.
Why not?said Fillmore, chief operating officer and partner with 3D
Property Management. Some people are into that.
In an effort to stand out from the 900 Kijiji postings for apartments
in Saint John, Fillmore posted an advertisement for a one-bedroom unit
on Clarendon Street in the north end, blatantly boasting the presence
of ghosts.
Its haunted, but the rent is great! the posting reads.
Click on, and you find that the $600 unit features include a
security-locked entrance, laundry, a fridge, stove and a ghost
(followed by a winking emoticon).
While Fillmore has no actual proof of the supernatural in the
apartment, he says its not out of the question.
It could be haunted. Its an older building; maybe it is, he said,
estimating the building owned by people who live out of the province to
be at least 100 years old.Saint John is an old city, and there are
lots of ghost stories.
So far there have been no bites, but the ad has led to viewings and
rentals of other properties, he said.
Fillmores creative marketing is the latest in a string of ads he has
posted including one appealing to hypochondriacs who might want to
live near the hospital as a way to break through the flooded rental
market.
The ploy is not unlike one used by real estate agent Jake Palmer, who
posted a not haunted sign along with many others at a home that
had been listed on the market on nearby Douglas Avenue for several
months two years ago.
The most recent statistics from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing
Corporation showed Saint Johns October vacancy rate at 11.4 per cent,
a number that has been steadily climbing over recent years and stands
higher than the vacancy rates in Fredericton and Moncton.
If you go on Kijiji, every single ad looks the same, Fillmore said.I
guess the whole idea was pull their attention, pull them in. Then Ive
got them.
Claude Gautreau, a senior market analyst with the CMHC in Moncton, said
Saint Johns vacancy rates have been trending higher than those of
other provincial cities for a few years now, possibly because of
outmigration or lack of significant population growth.
While high vacancy rates create a more difficult situation for property
owners trying to make a return on their investment, they make for a
renters market, he said.
If you want to live in a particular area of the city, or if you want a
particular kind of unit, you have a much better chance of finding what
youre looking for, he said.
The perfect situation for both renters and landlords is abalanced
rate, when both sides can meet their objectives, he said. In Saint
John, such a rate dates back to 2000, when the average vacancy rate was
about six per cent.
Gautreau said he doesnt expect any big changes in the citys vacancy
rate as new statistics are released in June, with only a slight
increase or decrease on the horizon.
As for Fillmore, hell continue to make the most of the challenging
market.
It depends on how you look at it, Fillmore said. You could get into
what the CMHC is saying with the high vacancy, or you can just make it
work.
For him, it all comes down to marketing, advertising and offering good
service rather than gimmicks such as a months free rent that might end
only in high tenant turnover.
The vacancy rate for units in the 45 buildings his company manages is
actually closer to eight per cent, he said.
So were doing better than average.

Mayor Mel Norton Dropped in to meet with us. Had a great conversation about Saint John and
the opportunities on the horizon.

3D Property Management receives Certificate as finalists for the Outstanding Business Awards.

August 23, 2013

3D Property Management was announced as a finalist for the Saint John Board Of Trades Outstanding Business Awards "Up and coming Entrepreneurs" category .

Telegragh Journal August 23,2013

SAINT JOHN A local developer had nearly 40 people from out-of-town
express investment interest over the past four months.

Some came from as far as Hong Kong and the Middle East region, and five
have already inked deals of some sort.

The owner of 3D Property Management Inc., Matt Doherty, said the scale of
his operations have about doubled as a result.

The investors came amidst a summer of low housing starts, but also at the
tail of a $12-billion pipeline announcement that stakeholders say renewed
regional economic confidence.

Saint John Real Estate Board president Jason Stephen added the investment
influx is not surprising given the current housing resale market.

I think we can expect stable growth, he said. I dont think prices are
going to go through the roof or anything, but what were finding is that
these sort of things can lead to Saint John being a good place to invest.

The pipeline project, spearheaded by the Calgary-based TransCanada Corp.,
seeks to transport Alberta crude to refineries in Saint John and is
already promising 2,000 construction jobs.

But work has yet to start on the pipeline which is slated to be competed
in 2018. While confidence is accumulating, the current construction market
is still on the decline.

CMHC market analyst Jason Beaton said the low housing starts for July
actual starts went down to 67 from 112 will likely continue until at
least 2014.

The housing market is still declining for new house, he said. A lot of
it is from the demand that was built up to about 2008, and as such, weve
seen the market continue to decline from its peak in 2008.

Were predicting that the market is going to continue the same trend for
2013 and 2014.

But Doherty is optimistic about the influx of investment, at least in the
long run.

Im hoping that this is a longer-term trend where people do see the
possibility of Saint John, and thats why theyre getting in right now,
he said. Our prices have not been inflated.

They want to get in now in the hopes that they will see the increase over
the next couple of years.

Doherty added the current slump will not likely remain over a long period.

If you look at the Statistics Canada numbers, we have the highest vacancy
rates among the 35 census metropolitan areas they measure, he said.
Today, its not a good market, but if anybody has a little bit of a
foresight, if theyre looking a little down the road there are a lot of
cool things that are going to be happening.

PotashCorp is preparing a $1.67-billion mine near Sussex online by 2015
and the city is expecting a $100-million development deal this year.

When you see where (the city) is today, compared to where it can be in
three, four, five years, theres a huge upside, said Doherty.

Youll get a better return on your investment on Saint John today than
you are in any other market if youre looking at a longer term strategy.
