Admonition that Donald Trump is a traitor to the voters that support & elected him would be to admit that they were wrong about Hillary R. Clinton when they chanted "lock her up !", and that they were wrong about Donald Trump...and they were wrong about President Barack Obama & well some people can admit a single wrong, or two, but to admit a whole wrong World view point is just iconoclastic !

After all America was great when President Barack Obama reversed the negative recession handed him by GW Bush, and created the greatest unemployment rate's & trend that is still following those trends set by his Presidency...but Donald takes credit for...much as Stephen Harper did for Paul Martins good financial navigation for Canada.

It's hard for some people to admit a single wrong, but they would have to change their whole life to admit they were wrong entirely about their political, economic, & health care crisis by trusting Donald Trump--a man that has burned every person that has laid their trust in him, be it ex wife, lawyer, business partner, investor, employee, contractor, Bank lender, Trump University student, US Republican Party...etc. etc.

It started a couple of decades ago:

Trump agreed to launder Russian oligarch money thru real estate and business transactions. With Trump receiving a generous percentage as front man. That's pretty much common knowledge.

It grew into political aspirations with GRU handlers covertly involved from the beginning. The reason Trump is so afraid of his election win being questioned is because he knows the extent of the collusion.

Which means Trump is not only compromised, as President he's sitting on a gold mine of information. I'd assume all pertinent information Trump access to has already been passed on to Russian military intelligence.

Don't think Trump would do it? What if the Russian mob threatened to harm a member of his family? There's nowhere Trump can go for help without confessing his treachery and suffering the consequences. Except Russia.

This is real world and the stakes couldn't be higher. Putin was KGB and never got over Reagan taking down the Soviet Union. As long as Trump is US President, Western security and lives are at risk.

David R. Amos
David R. Amos
@Bryan Atkinson Methinks many ghosts would agree that the malicious nonsense began over a hundred years ago with President Woodrow Wilson and The Federal Reserve Act (ch. 6, 38 Stat. 251, enacted December 23, 1913, 12 U.S.C. §§ 221 to 522), the same Act of Congress, the IRS, WWI and the beginnings of the Soviet Union etc. Obama and the Boyz renewed the Federal Reserve Bank's Charter five years ago and nobody registered his indignation except me. Trust that many people know that Trump is just the latest player supporting the Banksters. Anyone can use Google to see what I say is true N'esy Pas?

 John Dirlik

In the real world, Trump took Putin's word over that of his country's own intelligence services.

In Trumpland, the Donald merely misspoke.

In the real world, North Korea gave Trump its middle finger by brazen nuclear tests culminating in intercontinental capability, and can now negotiate from a position of strength.

In Trumpland, the Donald's intimidating gravitas bullied Kim Jong-un to the negotiating table.

In the real world, Obama convincing Iran to denuclearization was denounced by Trump as the "worst deal in history."

In Trumpland, the Donald convincing North Korea to do the same is deliriously paraded as a historic victory made possible by Trump's unparalleled deal-making prowess.

In Trumpland's topsy turvy world, up is down, facts become immaterial and wishes turn true. It is bigly fun.

Methinks you should never lose you faith in mankind just because some journalists selects certain folks to quote it does not follow all Yankees agree with them. In my humble opinion the world got lucky when Hillary lost. Trust that Trump's constant BS will cause his own defeat in the end and that of the GOP as well if they don't clue in real soon. Perhaps in 2020 some semblance of democracy and justice may surface in the the US of A but I ain't betting on it when I know for fact the politicians in Canada are no better than the Yankees. Where is Superman when ya need him N'esy Pas?

He could never admit to Russia interfering with the election, because if he did, it would mean he didn't win the vote truly by himself. Therefore he didn't 'win'. He will never admit this. If he does it will mean he failed.

He has Narcissistic personality disorder - characterized by their persistent grandiosity, excessive need for admiration, and a personal disdain and lack of empathy for other people. As such, the person with NPD usually displays arrogance and a distorted sense of superiority, and they seek to establish abusive power and control over others.

Self-confidence (a strong sense of self) is different from narcissistic personality disorder; people with NPD typically value themselves over others to the extent that they openly disregard the feelings and wishes of others, and expect to be treated as superior, regardless of their actual status or achievements.

Moreover, the person with narcissistic personality disorder usually exhibits a fragile ego (self-concept), intolerance of criticism, and a tendency to belittle others in order to validate their own superiority.

If this doesn't truly define him to a T, I don't know what will.

These Trump voters support the U.S. president's comments on Russia — and his walkback, too

Trump loyalists accept what happened in Helsinki — and his flip-flop

Carl Hobson, 79, a fixture in a conservative region of Baltimore County, is unofficially known as 'the mayor of Edgemere.' He believes U.S. President Donald Trump may have held off on challenging Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Helsinki so he could extract other concessions down the line. (Jason Burles/CBC)
Words failed Donald Trump. But to some of his staunchest voters, at least the U.S. president hasn't failed them — not even after Trump's shambolic press conference in Finland.

Trump on Monday endorsed Russian President Vladimir Putin's "powerful" denial about Russian meddling in the U.S. election, undermining his own intelligence community in the process. Republican and Democratic critics panned Trump's performance as "shameful," "disgraceful" and "treasonous" before Trump touched down on U.S. soil.

Amid the furor, Trump claimed he misspoke, issuing a clarification on Tuesday: "I accept" American intelligence conclusions, Trump said, somewhat reversing the earlier statements he made under Putin's gaze. (Trump also hedged that wording, adding, "Could be other people also.")

Staunch Trump supporters in a blue-collar pocket of Maryland were unmoved either way, shrugging off Trump's initial remarks favouring Putin's denial, lauding the president for correcting a "wrong," and rationalizing Russia's interference in the U.S. democratic system by noting the U.S.'s own history of using money and propaganda to sway elections.
About 90 minutes outside Washington, D.C., in eastern Baltimore County, CBC News interviewed Trump loyalists in blue-collar Essex, Edgemere and Dundalk, communities that heavily favoured Trump in the 2016 Republican primary.

Here's what they said:

The 'mayor':

Carl Hobson, 79, is known for hanging oversized Trump campaign banners outside his gas station in Edgemere, Md. (Jason Burles/CBC)
Carl Hobson, 79, is a familiar face at the Boulevard Diner in the former manufacturing town of Dundalk. Regulars at the gas station he's operated since 1964 know him as "the mayor of Edgemere," the community less than 10 minutes away, just over the Bear Creek bridge.

"You know that the Russians definitely interfered with the elections," he acknowledged. "It's nothing new. They've been doing it for years. And [Trump] didn't look at Putin and say, 'Hey, you're lying.' He negotiates different than every other politician."

The way Hobson sees it, Trump's apparent patronage of Putin on Monday was part of a grand strategy. Sure, Hobson reasons, Trump said on Monday that he believed Putin over his own intelligence community. But that doesn't mean he didn't "put America first," he says.

"If he accepted [Putin's] word on that, it would give [Trump] room to go to other places and fix other problems."

Hobson's politics are well-known around these parts. He made headlines in the area for hanging oversized Trump campaign signs below the fuel prices at his gas station.

As for his reaction to Trump walking back his defence of Putin and saying he now accepts American intel?

"I think he accepted it all along," Hobson says. "He was saying what he was saying to appease Putin because he's got other things in mind."

There are bigger concerns than Russia, he says, like purportedly large-scale voter fraud — a vanishingly rare phenomenon political scientists have debunked as a myth. Still, Hobson worries about non-citizens gaming the system.

"Does that ring your bell? It rings mine."

The mom:

Ashlee Draper, 30, and her son, Grayson, 3, pumping gas at Hob's gas station in Edgemere, Maryland. (Jason Burles/CBC)
While pumping gas at the Hob's Carrol Fuel gas station with her three-year-old, Grayson, Ashlee Draper, 30, said she isn't sure whether Russia is an adversary, despite evidence showing Russian operatives interfered with the 2016 election.

"With everything going on in the world, you can't be enemies with anybody."

She appreciates Trump "walking on ice" around Putin, suggesting his cozy attitude was more about "just trying to keep things calm."

If Russia is a true enemy to the U.S., "I think he's honestly just keeping his enemies closer, to watch them," she said.

Putin may be a friend to the U.S. today — and Trump just wants to keep it that way.
"Anybody can turn at any time. Even my son's an angel one day, a nightmare the next day."

The Christian:

Tom, a customer at a gas station in Edgemere, Md., says it's 'smart' of Trump to befriend Putin. 'What’s wrong with being friends with Russia, China, Japan, Korea, North Korea? What’s wrong with that? We can all get along.' (Jason Burles/CBC)
"I pray for him every day. I really do. Him and his family," says Tom, clutching a bag filled with Marlboro Blacks and a handful of random-pick Powerball tickets at the Hob's gas station.

Tom, who didn't give his last name out of fear of being targeted by "crazy, violent liberals," says Trump is doing what he can to run a country at a time when he feels conservatives are under attack. The criticism of the Trump-Putin summit is unfounded, he said, because diplomacy doesn't work by "making an ass out of somebody on the world stage."

"You cannot build a relationship with somebody if you jump in their crap in a world audience — if you embarrass them."

The 60-year-old former truck driver doesn't believe intensifying theories that Putin may have compromising information on Trump. Nor does he understand conservative media like Fox News "turning against" the president by criticizing his behaviour at Monday's news conference.
"What do they want? Would they be happy with a war?"

So far, he's happy with Trump's tax reforms, his Supreme Court picks and restrictions on immigration. He favours shutting the U.S. border completely amid concerns about illegal migrants and wants the border wall. What he doesn't want, he said, is confrontations over politics.
Any "crazy liberals" who come after him will be in for a surprise, he warned.

"A Second Amendment surprise."

The handyman:

John McCluskey, 37, does home-improvement work around the Dundalk area. It pays well enough, he said, and he wonders whether it's fair for the media to beat up on Trump over foreign policy and Russia when the U.S. economy feels like it's improving.

Bethlehem Steel and other plants for General Motors, Lever Brothers and Seagram's left town years ago. He feels like things are picking up again, with a new Amazon warehouse having opened in Dundalk in 2015.

On the U.S. approach to Russia, McCluskey said he doesn't see why Trump has been described as meek when he sees a leader who "ain't gonna take their shit."

Asked why Trump would side with Putin on Monday over the expertise of his own American advisers, McCluskey dismissed the wisdom of the president's intelligence team.

"He's found out a lot of the people behind him are crap anyways."

The retirees:

Over a plate of fettuccine Alfredo, Joyce Fennell, 73, said she sees nothing wrong with Trump's initial support for Putin's denial, or his eventual retraction.

"I give him credit for admitting he was wrong."

Sitting across the table, her husband, Archer, said Trump "flips all the time" with his rhetoric, but likes the overall direction the country is headed.

"What he has accomplished in what he's doing is far greater than when he speaks," Archer said. "If you take the country as a whole, what's going on, I think we're stronger."

Although Archer believes "there probably was Russian meddling" in the U.S. election, he noted that Americans have long sought to influence other elections abroad. Such was the way of the world, he said, and Americans may need to accept further Russian hacking attempts as "normal practice" for further elections to come.

If that prospect worries Joyce, she didn't show it.

"When you get to my age, you just accept what happens," she said, beckoning her husband to stop fretting about politics and finish eating.

Her pasta, she said, was getting cold.

After outrage over his failure to hold Russia accountable for interfering in the 2016 U.S. election during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he accepts the U.S. intelligence community's conclusion that Russia did in fact meddle in the election.

At a joint news conference with Putin after a summit in Helsinki on Monday, Trump stunned politicians back home by shying away from criticizing Putin for Moscow's efforts to undermine the election, contradicting the findings of American intelligence agencies.
Trump, whose summit with Putin concluded a week-long European trip that included a NATO meeting and talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May, pushed back on Tuesday at the storm of criticism, blaming media coverage.

While I had a great meeting with NATO, raising vast amounts of money, I had an even better meeting with Vladimir Putin of Russia. Sadly, it is not being reported that way - the Fake News is going Crazy!

On Monday, when asked about the meddling, Trump said that while his intelligence officials had said "they think it's Russia" that Putin "just said it's not Russia."

"I will say this: I don't see any reason why it would be," Trump said.

But back at the White House on Tuesday, he told reporters that he meant to say wouldn't instead of would. He told reporters, "The sentence should have been I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russia."

As the president said he has "full faith" in the intelligence agencies, the lights in the conference room briefly went out. As they came back on, he said that while he feels strongly that Russia's actions had no impact on the outcome of the election, he accepts the intelligence community's conclusion that meddling took place.

But even as he tried to clarify his previous statement and assert support for U.S. intelligence agencies, he left room for other actors to be implicated.

"I accept our intelligence community's conclusion that Russia's meddling in the 2016 election took place," Trump said. "It could be other people also, there's a lot of people out there. There was no collusion at all."

The president  also said that his administration would repel any effort to interfere in the upcoming midterm elections.

'He's given them a pass'

The condemnation for his performance at the Helsinki news conference, including from many fellow Republicans, matched or eclipsed previous controversies in Trump's turbulent 18 months in office.

"The president needs to understand he has damaged U.S. foreign policy," Rep. Mike Turner, a Republican on the House intelligence committee, told CNN. "He's given them a pass and is certainly not holding them accountable for what they're doing."

Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell addressed the issue Tuesday, saying it is "indisputable" that Russia meddled in 2016.

"I think the Russians need to know that there are a lot of us who fully understand what happened in 2016 and it really better not happen again in 2018," the Republican leader said.

Trump also on Tuesday reiterated his message that he thinks the U.S. and Russia should work to improve relations and said that "diplomacy and engagement" is better than hostility and conflict.

Russia's government 'menacing'

Ahead of Trump's Tuesday appearance, some lawmakers said they would seek remedies in Congress.
Republican Senator Jeff Flake, a longtime Trump critic, has raised the idea of passing a resolution that would voice lawmakers' support for the U.S. intelligence community and U.S. allies.
Robert Menendez, the top Democrat on the Senate foreign relations panel, has floated a resolution similar to Flake's.

Several senators, including Republican Ben Sasse, Republican Pat Toomey, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and Mark Warner, the senior Democrat on the Senate intelligence panel, have backed more sanctions on Russia, but it was unclear whether Senate or House of Representatives leaders would support such a move or how new sanctions might be crafted.
House Speaker Paul Ryan, calling Russia's government "menacing," said he was willing to consider additional sanctions on Russia, and reiterated his support for U.S. intelligence community findings that Russia interfered in the 2016 election.

"We just conducted a yearlong investigation into Russia's interference in our elections," he said. "They did interfere in our elections — it's really clear. There should be no doubt about that."
Ryan said Putin "does not share our interests ... does not share our values."

Congress nearly unanimously passed a sanctions law last year targeting Moscow for election meddling and for its actions in Ukraine and Syria. In April, that law led the U.S. Treasury to impose major sanctions on Russian officials and oligarchs, in one of Washington's most aggressive moves to punish Moscow.

Enhanced election security

Schumer also called for the immediate passage of legislation to enhance election security, and reiterated calls for the Senate to hold immediate hearings to get testimony from Trump's national security team about what transpired during the private Trump-Putin meeting "so we can find out what the heck happened there."

After the president addressed the Russia issue on Tuesday, Schumer said Trump is trying to "squirm" away from his comments because he didn't have the courage to stand up to Putin in Helsinki.

U.S. intelligence agencies concluded last year that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 election campaign and sought to tilt the vote in Trump's favour, something Moscow has long denied. Special counsel Robert Mueller is probing that allegation and any possible collusion by Trump's campaign.

Trump has denied collusion and casts Mueller's probe as a witch hunt that detracts from his election victory.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called for passage of legislation increasing funding to improve the security of U.S. election equipment and prevent cyberattacks. Pelosi also wants to force a vote on the House floor on a resolution rebuking Trump's remarks in Helsinki.

Other lawmakers called for members of the Trump administration to resign in protest.

Not all Republicans were angry with the president's conduct in Helsinki. "The president did a good thing by meeting with Putin," Sen. Rand Paul told the CBS program This Morning, comments that won him public thanks from Trump on Twitter.
Russia's political and media establishment heralded the summit as a victory for Putin in breaking down Western resolve to treat Russia as a pariah.

"The West's attempts to isolate Russia failed," read the headline on a report on Monday's summit meeting in state-run newspaper Rossiisskaya Gazeta.
