Majority of customers impacted in Shediac-Cap-Pelé region

Power has been restored for most N.B. Power customers.

As many as 5,400 were without electricity early Sunday, but that number had fallen to 550 by 5 p.m.

N.B. Power spokesperson Dominique Couture said in an email to CBC News that two of the outages were planned for maintenance.

The majority of impacted customers were in the Shediac-Cap-Pelé area, with five outages affecting 4,543 households.

Just under 900 customers lost power in the Northumberland-Miramichi region due to two outages.
