Bishop yet to respond to petition opposing move to replace pastor

Parishioners of Holy Family Catholic Church in Bathurst who have been
opposing pastoral change since early June, and have collected almost
2,000 names on a petition, have yet to receive a reply from the local
bishop.

"We were told to stop the petition," said Betty Bouma, a member of the
Catholic Women's League in Bathurst.

"We had between 1,500 and 2,000 signatures."
