"An $8.8 million forgivable loan from New Brunswick taxpayers will be used by TD to create 440 new jobs over the next seven years at a new finance operations centre in Dieppe. "

"In a news release, deputy TD chair Frank McKenna called the 440 jobs "highly skilled finance jobs."

Forgivable loan, free money for a bank no less and godfather Frank is in the picture. No wonder the government is generous.

@Rosco holt " forgivable loan" Spelled "Gift or corporate welfare".
We are not even shocked by these announcements anymore,
but it really sucks to us who live on the edge of a sharp blade
having to go in debt to provide for the very very rich.

@William Roberts FYI In 2004 while I ran in the elections of the 38th and 39th Parliaments in New Brunswick, Frank McKenna's law firm partner Richard Bell ran the local campaigns for Mr Harper and the Blue Coats.

Go Figure why Richard Bell became the first judge Harper appointed.

Why does a company that is profitable, in the Billion$/yr, need to extract million$ from already overtaxed NBers?

David Amos
David Amos
@Jann Dutch Of course not but the reason they are so profitable is because f their ability to con politicians Google the following expression

Harper and Bankers

Look for Frank McKenna and the TD Bank being correctly named

@David Amos BTW when I first began to study the work of politicians such as Frank McKenna and their banker buddies he was a Director of the BMO and Harper's Clerk of the Privy Council Kevin Lynch was Paul Martin's Deputy Minister of Finance. Now many years later Lynch is the Deputy Chair of the BMO and McKenna is Deputy Chair of the TD.

The actions of two those Maritimers easily prove the old expression "Everything is political and its always about the money"

You would think after 30 years and several millions of dollars that Frank McKenna might have an idea that does not involve call centres. But I guess he does not.
The dude spent his 10 years in office auditioning for corporate work. And nearly the day that he left office he left the province for Bay Street and Forest Hill in Toronto. His former province would be a heck of a lot better off if he stayed there.

@Sean Onuaillain Here is an video that the Government of New Brunswick deleted from its website while I was running for a seat in the Parliament and being illegally barred from parliamentary properties because I was challenging the Integrity of Frank McKenna and his many buddies.

Methinks anyone who has an interest in politicking in Canada and the USA should wonder about this secret meeting in Northern New Brunswick in July of 2OO2 mere weeks after I sued 3 US Treasury Agents and legions of lawyers and judges N'esy Pas?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSCgMKFdr3U

Need I say that video caused me to study rather closely the Province I was born and raised and did business within ? (BTW My business's became a client of the TD Bank when it first came to Sussex NB)

Need I say that I was not surprised to see Stephen Harper merge his political party with Peter MacKay's PC Party after he attended the questionable Bilderberger meeting in Paris with Frank McKenna and Bernie Lord the following year?

In March, TD reported earnings of $2.35 billion in the quarter ending Jan. 31

AND THEY STILL WANT CORPORATE WELFARE? NO WONDER THIS PROVINCE AND IT"S POPULATION ARE BROKE.

William Roberts
William Roberts
@Jason Creamer You know it wouldn't be so bad if we were JUST broke! As it is we are so deep in debt we will never get out. We are now just paying the interest on that growing debt. Would you run your own personal finances that way?
Giving money to a bank and financial institution that is already milking us dry just does not make any sense.

@William Roberts Methinks everybody in the know knows that while Premier Gallant was a law student under the tutelage of his Attorney General Serge Rousselle I questioned the Integrity of Frank McKenna and all his banker and political pals. Scribd records the fact that thousands of people have read this file over the years since I posted it within their domain

https://www.scribd.com/doc/2718120/integrity-yea-right

The document proves that obody can deny the fact that Brad Green Premier Bernard Lord's Attorney General affirmed it for me. It was a small that Mr Harper would appoint Green to be judge after he lost his seat just like he did with David Alward's Attorney General Marie Claude Blais about 8 years later.

Frank still milking us dry!!!
Just run out to the Back yard and pick $9M from that money tree.
We should just declare bankruptcy and save all that paperwork later.
BTW who do you have to know to get out of this corporate welfare province?

@Junkman George Yesterday a fan of Frank's found a comment I made about Trump and Comey amongst a litter blizzard of other comments Methinks some folks in New Brunswick may enjoy the exchange N'esy Pas?

David Amos
@Sandy Gillis Methinks you will overjoyed to be informed that CBC blocked my reply N'esy Pas?

Sandy Gillis
@David Amos
No, I'd rather the CBC didn't block things. That still doesn't give any reason as to why you would have any greater knowledge of James Comey than anyone else. Are you related to him? Are you an acquaintance of his? Have you ever worked with him? It's nothing personal, I would scoff at any person posting on an internet forum stating that I should just blindly trust their expertise.

Walter White
@David Amos

The McCarthyism is unfortunately on full display - defense of him in any way even if you disapprove of his politics is simply not tolerated by the left.

David Amos
@Sandy Gillis I was argued Comey's associates in US District Court in two lawsuit while he was prosecuting Martha Stewart If you had Googled what I suggested you would already know that CORRECT?

David Amos
@Walter White I know In all sincerity I find it rather comical

Imagine if people actually checked out what I have been telling them?

@David Amos
Look at what you actually said there David:

"I was argued Comey's associates in US District Court in two lawsuit while he was prosecuting Martha Stewart If you had Googled what I suggested you would already know that CORRECT?"

Read that over again a couple of times. You argued (against I presume is the word you meant there?) Comey's associates? What does that even mean? Do you mean the legal "associate", as in a lawyer? Or do you mean the more colloquial understanding of associate, as in casual friend or business acquaintance?

Okay, now that we've waded past that, regardless of your answer to the previous question, what does that have to do with knowing James Comey in any meaningful way? Seeing people he knows in a courtroom allowed you to, what? Telepathically absorb their knowledge of the man?

Now, on to the rest. Your suggested searches and links are just collections of emails and correspondence. I didn't see any communications you had with James Comey at all. What does getting an email back from Martha Stewart's brother, or letters from various law enforcement agencies informing you that your allegations were investigated and found to be completely unfounded, have to do with gaining some deep understanding of James Comey?

CBC has a staff of professional journalists (with press credentials) and professional researchers, Donald Trump has actually had face to face conversations with the man, but we're supposed to trust that you know James Comey best because you posted an email you sent telling Martha Stewart's friend Eva how she's pretty and a good friend?

TD gets $8.8M in aid from province to create 440 jobs in Moncton area

New finance centre will be located in former Sears store in Champlain mall

An $8.8 million forgivable loan from New Brunswick taxpayers will be used by TD to create 440 new jobs over the next seven years at a new finance operations centre in Dieppe.

The money will be disbursed in various phases if the bank achieves set milestones, including targets for hiring, opening the centre and job numbers.

The new finance operations centre will be in TD's new corporate office in the former Sears store in the Champlain Place mall.

The office is expected to open by January 2019, the bank said in a news release.

The space will be shared with a TD business services centre, announced in May 2017. That centre is supposed to create 575 customer service jobs over six years, which means more than 1,000 new TD jobs for the Moncton area, according to the bank.

Provincial government assistance for the business services centre included a $6.8 million forgivable loan and $2.1 million for training.

The centre that was announced Thursday will centralize some finance operational functions and provide services such as general accounting, reporting, and transaction processing.

Supposed to meet targets

The recruitment for jobs in both centres will begin by September, and the postings will appear on the company's recruitment site.

TD will have to pay back the loans if it doesn't meet targets, Opportunities New Brunswick said when the first forgivable loan was announced.

In a news release, deputy TD chair Frank McKenna called the 440 jobs "highly skilled finance jobs."
"We are looking forward to tapping into the region's professional workforce and post-secondary graduates, creating high-calibre and skilled employment opportunities," he said.

In March, TD reported earnings of $2.35 billion in the quarter ending Jan. 31.
