Danielle Smith calls fed's clean energy regulations "utterly out of step with reality" | FULL

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith defended her government's six-month moratorium on renewable energy projects, while also calling Ottawa’s proposed clean energy plan "disappointing" during a press conference on Monday.

“[The regulations] are unconstitutional, irresponsible, and utterly out of step with reality. If they become the law of the land, these regulations would crush Albertans finances and they would also cause dramatic increases in electricity bills for families and businesses across Canada.” Smith said.

Smith would go on to say that her government wasn’t closing the door on cooperation with the federal government but that her government believes it could be done by 2050, not by 2035.

Smith was also pressured by reporters on the government’s decision to pause renewable energy projects in the province for six-months.

“We have put a six month pause to figure out whether or not we can address these issues of reliability and affordability and siting and reclamation.”

Dear David,

You won't believe this! Trudeau and his Ottawa Liberals have gone to another level of insanity: banning Alberta Premier Danielle Smith from even speaking about his reckless “Net zero” Blackout Plan in Ottawa.

The conservative Premier isn't asking for anything radical; she wants sensible timelines to protect all Canadians, to prevent deadly blackouts that will cause people to freeze in the dark or die from extreme heat.

But Trudeau? It is all deaf ears and blind eyes on his part. He is apparently content with whatever casualties his ill-conceived plan leads to.

We're not standing for this. We're not letting Ottawa shut sensible Canadians out.

I have a plan, and it has three parts. I need your help with all of them. Hear me out, and maybe we can force Trudeau to listen to reason:

  1. Sign the petition below. Add your name to the official call to force the Liberals to #LetSmithSpeak in Ottawa.

  2. Invite ONE friend of yours to add their name as well. This only works if the petition goes viral.

  3. I have uncovered the personal and private email of the Liberal Chair of the Environment Committee. It is Francis.Scarpaleggia.p9@parl.gc.ca. Send him a personal, and very polite note asking him to change his mind and #LetSmithSpeak.

🖋 Sign the "Let Smith Speak" Petition Now

Ottawa's rushed 2035 agenda threatens not only our country’s economic stability but also the pocketbooks of every Canadian. It is life threatening policy that needs to be stopped.

By signing this petition, you're not just supporting common sense – you're voicing your concern for a democratic, considerate, and economically sound future for all of Canada.

Keep fighting for what is right.
