Methinks throughout this long hot summer for politicians north and  south of the 49th the crooked corporate media dudes are gonna have a hard time keeping up with the ethical people in social media N'esy Pas?

David Amos
Methinks anyone with two clues between their ears would find the following truly ridiculous N'esy Pas?

"Friday's court filings took place mere hours before Brunswick News's flagship newspaper, the Telegraph-Journal, won the Michener Award, the top Canadian prize for public-service journalism.

At the award ceremony Friday night, Metcalfe said without journalism, "secrecy would be rampant. Truth, trust, transparency would be scant."

Heather Michon
Reply to @David Amos: Irving owns the Telegraph Journal.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Heather Michon:

Then feel free to start your own media and newspaper company, we live in Canada, where you can do whatever you want,

David Amos
Reply to @Heather Michon: Everybody knows

Harold Benson
Reply to @Johnny Horton: So I can start selling milk, eggs, bedding plants, chicken and all that stuff under the corporate welfare program known as supply management for whatever price I want? I don't think so. So in that regard, corporations have MORE rights that a human being.

David Amos
"In its application to the court, the government said it wanted publication blocked "to prevent damage to the legitimate public interest … and to the private interests of commercial entities."

Yea Right

Ray Bungay
Reply to @David Amos: And people wonder why I have a total mis-trust of governments and politicians. They can do and say what they want but the free press and media can not! Really sad I think!

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Ray Bungay:

I don’t see you publicly stating your finances and taxes. I don’t see why any business should have to.

Ronald Parker
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Maybe the one that reap from NBers should.

Heather Michon
Reply to @David Amos: And to keep the public from finding out what's really going on.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Heather Michon:

Who cares? I’ve got s roof over my head and food on the table. Everyone else can do whatever they want, it is a free country after all.

David Amos
Reply to @Ray Bungay: Methinks many would agree that a free press is a myth N'esy Pas?

Al Clark
Reply to @David Amos: Seulement "in this place" no?

David Amos
Reply to @Al Clark: Nope

Al Clark
Reply to @David Amos: Pardonnez. ESPECIALEMENT "in this place"!

Greg Smith
New Brunswick is controlled by Mr. Irving, and Blaine is just the latest puppet. He should have his strings cut over this.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Greg Smith:

Did you even read the story! Higgs STOPPED Irving from publishing,

Joe Campbell
Reply to @Johnny Horton: I am sure Irving went to Mr.Higgs to tell him what was going to be published and to put a stop to it. This way the Irving's do not look like the bag guys for not running the story.

Greg Smith
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Yes of course I read it. This information should've been published, that's my point.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Greg Smith:

Why? By Canadian law a business is an entity, just like a person and is entitled to the same rights, you don’t need to reveal your proprietary information, then business shouldn’t have to either, by our LAWS.

Greg Smith
Reply to @Johnny Horton: I’ll just wait for you to explain why crown corporations like NB Power(ie: taxpayer owned) should be exempted from reporting to the public. All public corporations post their financial results at least annually, but often quarterly. You’re confusing laws that apply to private citizens with those that apply to public companies. This being said, the province publishes gross wages earned by all NB physicians, who in most cases own their private practices. In this case it’s because they bill through Medicare; also taxpayer funded. All I’m stating is there needs to be consistency in the reporting standards. At the moment there is not.

David Amos
Reply to @Greg Smith: NB Power is not audited

Greg Smith
Reply to @David Amos: Except by the AG every regime change.

David Amos
Reply to @Greg Smith: Nope the AG has no funding to do such a thing. Methinks the lady doth protest too much in light of the fact that she knows the awful truth of it all and never mentions it. I bet many politicians would agree in private that she is just protecting her own job security N'esy Pas?

Greg Smith
Reply to @David Amos: Methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks methinks N'esy pas?

Greg Smith
I must admit I don't fully understand the ramifications of this leak and newspaper story; however, I do find it interesting that the paper publishing the story is owned by the Irving Group. Higgs has done a great job of bobbing and weaving so far and I hope he can continue; however, something bothers me about secrecy especially when it comes to "taxes".

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Greg Miller:

I agree in regards to secrecy and taxes. So how much do you pay in taxes?

Joe Campbell
Reply to @Johnny Horton: To much, my last pay the government took 33%. That does not include my CPP or EI.

David Amos
Reply to @Greg Miller: "I must admit I don't fully understand the ramifications of this leak and newspaper story"

Methinks many would agree that its an effort to make Higgs and the Irving Clan appear to be at odds and yet both are ethical N'esy Pas?

Joe Campbell
Of course, transparency at it's best!

David Amos
Reply to @Joe Campbell: Methinks they trying to make it appear that way but its just another smoke and mirror show at the circus N'esy Pas?

Bobby Burke
Notice the Fredericton Police are investigating the 'theft' of papers! ... Will they be investigating the loss of more billions of dollars, the government needs just to pay the "Interest" on the debt?

David Amos
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Methinks the Fredericton police should investigate why they stole my Harley N'esy Pas?

Al Clark
Reply to @David Amos: ....and sent the swat team in on Chucky the helmet scofflaw?

David Amos
Reply to @Al Clark: Methinks Mr Higgs and his Minister of Justice can take up that issue with their buddy Chucky N'esy Pas?

Bobby Burke
I'll bet the News(?) Papers are chomping at the bit, to run with this story!

David Amos
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Methinks doth jest just enough N'esy Pas?

JJ Carrier
I smell Jamie Irving on this, not Jim Irving...

Bobby Burke
Reply to @JJ Carrier: I think there is enough 'Smell' around here that it could be the whole family, & who knows how many there are now. Just like the Royal family, when another one is born, it's just another mouth to feed, & they don't eat bread & molasses.

Marguerite Deschamps
Reply to @Bobby Burke: more like caviar!

JJ Carrier
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Jamie has dropped the ball on the whole BNI operation...Methinks you should Google for the CBC stories dating back to the late 2000s on his mental hernias in relation to the company...Jim is just a figurehead, while Jamie has ruined all the community newspapers under his control...In the words of NFL Films, he thinks he's Al Davis

JJ Carrier
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Dig deeper is what I'm saying...Ask around...Talk to former employees, including the fired photog in Moncton who helped catch the RCMP killer, Larry's Gulch, stealing ext from the LN, the destruction of his sports department, The Toronto Star rejects who came in, etc etc

JJ Carrier
Reply to @Bobby Burke: The poor job on his website, the firing of longtime editorial writers, remote copy editing, a bad Cloud, yada yada yada

Johnny Horton
Reply to @JJ Carrier:

I don’t smell any Irving, I smell the government and B.B. power not wanting numbers out there so they can raise rates more,

David Amos
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Methinks everybody knows the real scoop on the Irving Clan most are just afraid to talk about it with their real names N'esy Pas?

Miles Gahan
I bet we will be told how much more we will have to pay to cover the Trudeau tax these business have to pay though. Good chance for them to increase our costs and increase their profits!

David Amos
Reply to @Miles Gahan: Of course

Ray Bungay
Big business and the courts stomping on our rights to information yet once again. Do you smell what's cooking folks!

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Ray Bungay:

By CNadian Law s bsuiness is an entity and entitled to the same rights as an individual. If you hav3a problem with our laws and constitution take that up with the Supreme Court.

Bobby Burke
Reply to @Johnny Horton: OMG, I knew it was bad, but this is just,...?????????

David Amos
Reply to @Ray Bungay: Methinks maybe if news like this continues more folks will listen to me during the next election N'esy Pas?

Johnny Horton
As usual, everyone taking the opportunity to ***** out the Irving’s.

Harold Benson
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Rightly so

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Harold Benson:

No. Not rightly so. Have some bloody ethics, instead of just railing alwsys no matter what is done. The Irving’s could pay off our debt and pave all our driveways gold and everyone would still *****,

Always gotta tear down those more successful,

Bobby Burke
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Yes Johnny, too bad they didn't have some way to protect themselves, like buy some News(?) Papers, radio stations, TV stations. Then they could not only omit things, but also promote themselves, like Thursday, June 13th, paper B3, ....an exact copy of Wednesdays B3! & guess what, Jim getting a ports award. First time in my life I've seen two dates in the same day.

Greg Smith
Reply to @Johnny Horton: You work for Irving, we get it.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Greg Smith:

Hardly, never have, haven’t even ever had a contract with any of their divisions.

I used to be a bleeding heart luv, then I woke up and now I’m s die hard libertarian. Everyone for themselves. No government bubble wrapping. No group ganging up to get stuff like unions.

Each person makes their own life and their own value.

David Amos
Reply to @Greg Smith: "You work for Irving, we get it. "

I got that long ago

Harold Benson
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Like they're gonna do that. Stop dreaming

Harold Benson
Reply to @Johnny Horton: How come you are so obsessed with that outfit? You work there?

Johnny Horton
The release of this dats, does far more damage to NB power and thus the government, than it ever would to the zirvings,

David Amos
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Yea Right

Chantal LeBouthi
the government said it wanted publication blocked "to prevent damage to the legitimate public interests
—————————————————
You already did

David Amos
Reply to @Chantal LeBouthi: True

Heather Michon
And Higgs is at it again, using the court system to implement his dictatorial agenda and keep the public in the dark. Controlling the press is integral in creating a dictatorship. I'm just waiting for him to say the press is the enemy of the people.

Johnny Horton
Reply to @Heather Michon:

Gee seems to me thst if the courts support Higgs, then zhiggs is followin* the laws.

David Amos
Reply to @Heather Michon: YUP

Bobby Burke
The "Gift" that keeps on giving!

David Amos
Reply to @Bobby Burke: Welcome to the Circus

Al Clark
The Irving guy using courts to prevent the irving paper from reporting on Irving. Is this what an acid trip is like???

David Amos
Reply to @Al Clark: This is real life Surprise Surprise Surprise

Johnny Horton
A business law course should be mandatory to every high school student. Thenmaybe finally posters around here will understand what s business is and what rights it has under the law,

David Amos
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Cry me a river

Greg Smith
Reply to @Johnny Horton: Public companies are obligated to report their financial results. Crown corporations such as NB Power, funded with taxpayer dollars, are effectively owned by tax paying New Brunswickers, and as such should share the same obligation as every other public company. Without this obligation, you'll continue to see entities like NB Liquor employ creative accounting tricks to embezzle taxpayer dollars.

Harold Benson
Reply to @Johnny Horton: And what laws need to change.

Paul Bourgoin
New Brunswickers know who owns the Province, who runs it, who pays taxes, and those who don't and then there is Higgs and his three party leadership. Moe, Curly and Larry!

Lou Bell
Reply to @Paul Bourgoin: Better than the " no leadership ' we had in the previous government
David Amos
Reply to @Paul Bourgoin: Methinks the 3 stooges make the circus very entertaining N'esy Pas?
Paul Bourgoin
Reply to @Lou Bell: And the the one before! and the other one before that and on and on!

Shawn McWilliams
So much for freedom of the press :(

David Amos
Reply to @Shawn McWilliams: Methinks you enjoy a little l enlightenment byway of Hollywood Citizen Kane 1941, Network (1976) and last but not the least Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) N'esy Pas?
